Last week, Godsmack frontman Sully Erna confirmed during his appearance on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” that the band will continue to release new material despite previous reports to the contrary. 

“I think some press misunderstood that,” Erna said. “I just said that I was pretty sure that (2023’s ‘Lighting Up The Sky’) would be the last full body of work from Godsmack, from the original members, that we wouldn’t be able to do this anymore because these guys were gonna kind of take their final curtain call and bow out. And I knew that this was most likely gonna be the last full body of work from the original members. But now here we are. Me and [bassist) Robbie (Merrill) had a long talk. We were, like, ‘Well.’ We had a decision to make, and we said, ‘Well, we’ve still got some gas in the tank here. I don’t really wanna hang it up yet.’ And he’s, like, ‘Let’s go around.’ And so we brought in these new guys, and it’s sounding great. So we’re, like, yeah, there’s probably gonna be some new music coming. I mean, it may not hit the streets till early ’27, but we’re gonna do something, for sure. But it just won’t be with all the original members anymore.”

Erna also revealed his new relationship with Dorothy Martin, lead singer of rockers Dorothy, who he collaborated with on an upcoming track called “Set Me Free.”

“Me and her connected originally because we both went through some history and with bad relationships,” Erna explained. “A lot of people kind of go through these things, but we have the opportunity to kind of voice it and vent it through our art. So we both kind of had gone through a similar situation that just felt really appropriate to kind of write about it and set it free. And the song became obvious. And it’s just a down-and-dirty good hard rock song. And it’s not a ballad, it’s nothing sappy. It’s actually the opposite.”

Dorothy added: “I love this man. He’s such a good, solid man. I feel safe with him. And we had a wonderful friendship for months and months. I’ve never laughed so much in my life. My face hurts.”

Former WWE star Jacques Rougeau has openly expressed his deep frustration over his continued exclusion from the WWE Hall of Fame.
