In a major update announced on May 16, 2026, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office has revealed that luchador Rogelio Reyes, known as El Cuatrero, will not serve time in prison despite his conviction for attempted femicide of WWE star Stephanie Vaquer. Instead, he will serve his full 12-year, eight-month sentence under house arrest through a supervised release program called “libertad vigilada,” with a permanent restraining order also banning any contact with Vaquer.

The then-CMLL Women’s Champion accused her boyfriend of strangling her by the throat and throwing her against a wall. Vaquer immediately filed a police report and provided photos of the bruises on her neck as evidence. Reyes was arrested days later in Aguascalientes and found guilty early this week, in a highly controversial outcome.
