In August, Sammy Guevara proposed to his long-term girlfriend Pam in the ring before an episode of Dynamite. However, Guevara has issued a statement on social media revealing he and Pam have decided to separate. Although based on the information provided, it appears they remain on good terms, as he says that they still love each other and wish the best for each other in the future.

I know a lot of you have supported us for a long time and we have appreciated it so much over the past several years. Since you’ve all given us so much love and support we figured we owed it to y’all to let you know that we are no longer in a relationship. We still love each other and wish nothing but the best for one another. We would appreciate your kindness and respect to our privacy during this time.

– Sam and Pam

Sammy Guevara

No reason for the separation has been provided, so many fans have attempted to create their own, with Tay Conti being condemned despite no evidence. The reason she has been mentioned appears to be simply based on Guevara and her appearing together at autograph signings and the fact she recently separated from her husband. Sadly due to the torrent of abuse she has since received, she has deleted her Twitter account. Regardless of the circumstances, hopefully, Guevara and Pam can move on with their lives and find what they are looking for in a relationship.

On Friday afternoon Talk Show Host Adam Slater would report that New York Giants legend and former WrestleMania competitor Lawrence Taylor had been arrested the previous day. Later TMZ would verify this and confirm that the reason was that Taylor had failed to register as a sexual offender. For those unaware, Taylor has had multiple legal issues since retiring from football, including leaving the scene of an accident, domestic violence, driving under the influence of alcohol, and even tax evasion. Yet, the most shocking and likely connected to this arrest was that he paid a 16-year-old girl for adult companionship in 2010. He would go on to plead guilty but stated he believed she was 19.

While NFL fans recognize Taylor for his two SuperBowl victories and MVP award, wrestling fans remember him for headling Wrestlemania XI against Bam Bam Bigelow. Back in 1995, the whole wrestling industry was in a slump, so WWE would bring in the linebacker to generate interest and media coverage. The angle between Taylor and Bigelow would commence at the Royal Rumble with the wrestler pushing the football player down who was sat in the front row down. After Bigelow refused to apologize on Raw, a match between the pair would be announced at the WrestleMania XI press conference. The match would actually main event the pay-per-view, and thanks to Bigelow, the match was better than most expected.

When Curtis Hussey was repacked as ballroom dancer Fandango in 2013, he initially received a big push by defeating Chris Jericho at WrestleMania. However, he wouldn’t reach those heights again and slowly slide down the card. Now in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, he has revealed at the time, he considered himself Vince McMahon’s little pet and was going to win the Intercontinental Championship. But, unfortunately, he’d suffer a concussion working with The Great Khali, and the company put the title on Curtis Axel instead.

They were going to put the IC Title on me, and I got concussed working with Great Khali. I didn’t tell them I was concussed. It was like a week or two before.

Fandango

I grew up in the wrestling business, if someone is going to put the IC Title you on you, you don’t take yourself out of the game. I didn’t want to stooge myself off. It was a tough spot. They took me off TV for a couple of weeks. I think Curtis Axel won the title. It derailed me. I was partying a lot at that time too. I kind of let up. I was in developmental for so long, and in my mind, I got to the finish line, and I had made it. You don’t just make it. You have to keep grinding after you get there even harder. I take full accountability for that. I kind of got there; I thought I was in, I was Vince’s little pet, and I let up.

Fandango

Fandango never regained the momentum he once had and wouldn’t see any further success until forming Breezango and Tyler Breeze. The duo would win the NXT Tag Team Championships in 2020, which would be Fandango’s only championship victory in WWE. Then in June 2021, his 15 years run with the company would come to an end when he was released. He has since returned to the independent scene and now competes under the name Dirty Dango and most recently wrestled for Billy Corgan’s NWA.

Three months ago, it became known Kevin Owens’ WWE contract expired in January 2022. This led to much speculation surrounding his future, and the belief was he was going to join his friends Adam Cole and The Young Bucks in AEW. However, news broke yesterday that he had re-signed with WWE for three more years. Now, in an interview with author Pat Laprade on the Podcast Les Anti-Pods de la Lutte, the Raw star would explain his reasoning for making the decision. Firstly, putting it down to doing what was best for his family, and then that having been with the company for seven years, he feels at home there.

I’ll just say that my contract still ends on January 31, but not 2022. I will still be in WWE for several years, The decision was pretty easy because it was the best thing for my family, really. When it comes to that, it’s always a pretty easy decision to take.

WWE has been my home for seven years now, so I have a sense of belonging. Basically, I spent the majority of my career here. When you look at all the wrestling companies I’ve wrestled for, in WWE, that’s where I’ve been the longest. That’s where I need to be for the next few years. That’s how I felt, and that’s the decision I made.

Kevin Owens

It’s understood WWE’s offer to Owens was very generous, being in the region of $2 to $3 million a year. Which when you consider Roman Reigns is said to earn $5 million a year, it puts into perspective how valuable WWE see’s Owens. It also likely helped that Owens publicly filtered with AEW on Twitter, as WWE hates having talents leave on their own terms for the competition. It should, though, be noted his agreement is the standard WWE contract, meaning he is still eligible to be let go at any time, which slightly takes the shine off the deal. Yet, if WWE does decide to release him in the future, AEW would likely jump at the opportunity to recruit him.

When Ring of Honor announced the promotion was going on hiatus and all talents would be released from their contracts, speculation commenced on who would end up where. The belief was Tony Khan had his sights set on several of the promotions wrestlers, and following the signing of Jay Lethal, he has added another ROH alumni in the form of Brody King, according to a report by Bodyslam. The signing reportedly took place over Thanksgiving weekend, and it is assumed that King was the mystery man featured during Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite who had mist spat into his face by Malakai Black.

King and Black are tag team champions in Pro Wrestling Guerilla under the name Kings Of The Black Throne, so joining The House of Black makes perfect sense. For those not familiar with King, the 34-year-old began wrestling in 2015 and wrestled on the independents in California before working for MLW, Evolve, and PWG. Subsequently, he would sign for ROH in 2018, which led him to wrestle on New Japan shows and earn an international reputation. Despite being 6 ft 5 and almost 300lbs, he demonstrates incredible agility and speed and has the tools to be a star in AEW.

Independent referee Lando Deltoro was brutally assaulted following a match in Texas this past weekend. While he had agreed to bleed, Devon Nicholson, best known as Hannibal, would repeatedly stab him, severing an artery and leaving him with a $10,000 medical bill. Deltoro would later reveal on Twitter that he was also suffering a blood infection. Thankfully, doctors told him they didn’t believe it was Hepatitis C but did require a high dosage of antibiotics. Now though, he is back at the hospital after something unexpected was discovered.

The concern of Hepatitis C was clearly due to Nicholson himself previously suffering from the infection after being stabbed by Abdullah the Butcher. This resulted in a lawsuit, and Nicholsen won $2.3 million in damages. However, it isn’t known how much he received as Abdullah transferred his assets into his wife’s name.

After the shocking referee assault story was picked up by TMZ, Nicholson would finally break his silence via a recently deleted YouTube video. In this, he claimed that he found it hard to see due to his mask, the spike he used was a prop given to him by the promoter, and he believed he was protecting Deltoro with his hand. He then blamed the referee for not making him aware he was harming him and said the promotion should have insurance, seemingly to cover the medical bills, and that their props should be safe.

The wrestling world is currently mourning the death of the much loved Jimmy Rave, and there have been countless tributes left to the man across social media. However, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Gigi Dolin would go one step further and pay homage to him during Tuesday night’s episode of NXT. She did this by wearing his trademark”Jimmy Rave Approved” t-shirt, as can be seen in the video below.

Dolan, who was known as Priscilla Kelly on the independents, worked with Rave on the same Georgia indy shows numerous times over the years and even competed against him in an intergender tag match in 2017. Following the announcement of his sad passing, she would be quick to tweet that she was heartbroken and credited the former ROH and TNA star as one of the most influential people of her career.

Three months ago, Kevin Owens began teasing leaving WWE. Initially, he tweeted and then deleted the coordinates for Mount Rushmore. This was relevant because, in 2013, he was part of a PWG faction called “The Mount Rushmore of Wrestling,” along with the Young Bucks and Adam Cole. He would then update his Twitter to read “Almost there,” while the Young Bucks had theirs as “There.” With his contract expiring in January 2022, many believed it was inevitable he was on his way to AEW.

Now though, Fightful Select has reported that following what was considered “an excellent offer,” the Raw star has re-signed with WWE. The belief is he has signed a multi-year deal, and the reason WWE has been giving him so much television time recently was their way of persuading him to stay. Whether Owens was ever seriously considering joining AEW is unknown, as it is possible he was flirting with the promotion to help earn himself a larger contract with WWE, which is something Randy Orton was previously accused of.

Owens has been with WWE since 2014 and has held the Universal Championship, NXT Championship, and both the Intercontinental and United States Championships on multiple occasions. Overall, he has always been prominently featured despite now having the look Vince McMahon usually pushes and worked with the company’s biggest stars, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. He is currently chasing the WWE Championship and challenges Big E as part of a Fatal Four-way match at WWE Day 1. Many fans had thought he was the man going to get pinned in the match; now, having committed himself to WWE, he has every chance of winning.

Earlier this week, the wrestling world lost Jimmy Rave, who was best known to fans for his work in TNA and ROH. His life had been challenging in recent years, as after years of battling drug addiction, he lost three limbs due to an MRSA injection. He would leave behind an ex-wife and two children, and one of them, Kailah, has launched a GoFundMe to pay for a memorial and help with expenses. As of writing, $5,375 has been raised out of a $20,000 goal from a total of 125 generous donors.

Rave started out in the wrestling business in 1999, and over his career, shared a ring with the likes of Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and CM Punk. He was also part of The Rock ‘n Rave Infection in TNA along with Lance Archer and Christy Hemme. Unfortunately, his career was derailed by substance abuse issues, and he had to attend rehab. However, he would attempt to rebuild his life and took a job at the Bartow County Peer Support, Wellness, and Respite Center in Georgia before sadly dealing with the amputations.

On December 4th, during a six-man tag match on a WWE house show, Jeff Hardy would unexpectedly exit through the crowd mid-match. Afterward, WWE would send him home, and on December 9th, he was released by the company. Subsequently, it would be revealed that Hardy had declined WWE’s offer of rehab, which led to them deciding to fire him.

This news resulted in the assumption among fans that Jeff had relapsed and was back on drugs and or alcohol. However, his brother Matt Hardy has refuted this on his Twitch channel by noting that Jeff was drug tested by WWE following the incident, and the results will restore his reputation.

Before anyone rushes to judgment, obviously, they drug tested him. After all, this stuff, wait until you hear the results of that, and when that comes back clean, then hopefully, people will feel better about it.

Matt Hardy

Jeff Hardy also appeared on his brother’s stream to announce some upcoming concert dates and seemed to be doing fine. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t justify his actions, so why he opted to leave mid-match remains a mystery. Hopefully, though, Matt is correct, and Jeff was clean and isn’t dealing with addiction issues. And of course, if the results prove Jeff wasn’t impaired, the speculation he will be joining AEW will begin once his 90 days non-complete expires.

Devon Nicholson’s reputation is currently in tatters after the indie wrestler turned YouTuber hospitalized Lando Deltoro this past weekend. He would repeatedly stab the referee, severing an artery in the process and leaving him with a $10,000 medical bill for which a GoFundMe has been launched. Since this was reported, he has stayed silent on the matter, even posting new YouTube content like it never happened. Finally, however, he has commented, following TMZ picking up the story and sending it in outside of the pro wrestling bubble.

He would first dispute that TMZ’s claims they tried to contact him and added that the referee was hired solely to bleed. He then explained that he found it hard to see due to the mask he was wearing, the spike he used was a prop given to him by the promoter, and that he thought he was protecting Deltoro with his hand. He then blamed him for not making him aware he was hurting him at the time and that he spoke to him afterward and was told they were cool. He’d then say the promotion should have insurance, seemingly to cover the medical bills, and their props should be safe. You can watch this for yourself below.

Right now, this is a very confusing situation, with Nicholson basically saying that any injuries were unintended. That thought doesn’t add up with eye witnesses’ descriptions and what the police were told. Although given that it is pro wrestling where the line between reality and fiction is blurred, it’s hard to believe any legal proceedings will occur.

The fact that Nicholson would actually get involved with blood in matches is somewhat surprising in itself as he famously caught Hepatitis C from Abdullah The Butcher. So naturally, WWE passed on signing him, and Nicholson would sue Abdullah. The up-and-coming indie wrestler would thankfully end up cured but was still awarded $2.3 million by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, although it isn’t known how much he received as Abdullah reportedly put the bulk of his assets in his wife’s name.

Life had been incredibly hard for independent wrestler Jimmy Rave over the past few years. Less than a year after having his left arm amputated, he also had to have both legs amputated following an MRSA infection this past June. He had done his best to cope but owed over $100,000 in medical bills, and several people in the wrestling world had tried to help him, with Mick Foley raising over $20,000 through an auction.

Tragically though, it has been announced by Bill Behrens, who is an agent to countless wrestlers, that the former TNA and ROH talent has passed away aged just 39. As of writing, no cause of death has been revealed, and he is survived by his ex-wife and two children Kailah and James II.

Rave started out in the wrestling business in 1999, and he is best known for his multiple runs in Ring of Honor, where he shared a ring with Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Nigel McGuinness, AJ Styles, and CM Punk. He was also part of The Rock’ n Rave Infection in TNA along with Lance Archer and Christy Hemme. Unfortunately, his career was severely hampered by drug addiction, which resulted in him attending rehab. He would, though, rebuild his life and get a job at the Bartow County Peer Support, Wellness, and Respite Center in Georgia before sadly having to deal with these amputations.
