On March 25th, Tammy Lynn Sytch, better known to wrestling fans as Sunny from her WWE days, was involved in a three-car crash. Tragically 75-year-old Julian Lafrancis Lasseter was killed, and his family has since filed a lawsuit against the Hall of Famer and her boyfriend, James Pente, claiming she was intoxicated. Now though, the former wrestling icon has replied to a fan on social media who questioned how fast she was driving by denying responsibility. Seemingly revealing that she suffered a seizure while driving, and Lasseter died of an unrelated heart attack.
Hmmmabout 10 since I was slowing down to. Light. But he had a heart. Attack. Nothing to do with my seizure
SunnyCurrently, police are awaiting toxicology results from the blood sample that they took from her at the hospital following the crash. However, given she has been arrested at least six times previously for driving while intoxicated, many suspect it will be revealed that she was in no condition to be behind the wheel. If this does end up being proven and she is found guilty, the 49-year-old faces up to 15 years behind bars.
Post-WrestleMania, WWE will introduce new and previously injured talents to television in an attempt to kick off new storylines. Now it has been reported by Fightful Select that the company is looking to do just that with Asuka, who has been recovering from shoulder surgery, as well as Mustafa Ali, who had been home after requesting his release in January. Intricate details of their returns weren’t disclosed. Still, both have been spoken about as returning as soon as this week’s episode of Raw. With Asuka potentially set to work with her longtime rival Becky Lynch.
Asuka last wrestled in July 2021 when she participated in the company’s women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match. Afterward, though, she would be absent from television, and later a photo was shared showing she’d undergone surgery. Since then, not much has been disclosed about the specifics of her injury, although it had been thought she’d been medically cleared for the past few months. Still, WWE has been waiting for the right time creatively to reintegrate her into the main roster.
Ali had been on a losing streak after a run on Main Event that featured him being defeated in short SmackDown matches to both Mansoor and Drew McIntyre. However, WWE was looking to revamp his character with a new gimmick. Unfortunately, things would sour after Vince McMahon gave him the specific details. Subsequently, Ali took to social media and revealed he wanted to depart the company. Nevertheless, WWE refused his release and attempted to mend fences by asking him to return as a participant at the Royal Rumble. Ali, though, would decline this, and since he has been home, with it presumed, he planned to sit out his contract, which still had multiple years remaining.
It was recently reported that WWE is interested in bringing Dax Harwood and Cash Wheler, collectively known as FTR, back to the company. This isn’t surprising as the team is arguably the best tag team in the world at present, and WWE had wanted to retain them previously. However, now in an interview with the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Harwood acknowledged the news story but said he’d never go behind Tony Khan’s back. He didn’t, though, rule out a potential return to WWE in the future, which is obviously the wise thing to do when it comes to contract negotiations with AEW.
I think both companies are in the business of getting talent and getting talented talent, not just any talent, and I think they’ve seen the wave we’ve made, especially in the last 8-10 months, more so in the last 4 months. So yeah, why wouldn’t they put feelers out? Why wouldn’t they ask about it?
Here’s the thing, we respect Tony so much. We would never, in a million years, while we’re under a contract with the company, would we ever go behind his back and talk contract status with anybody else. No other company. We would never do that to him because we have too much respect for what he’s given us and what he’s allowed us to do.
Dax HarwoodIt’s known the duo turned down significant money offers so they could leave WWE as they believe their tag division was an afterthought, citing Braun Strowman’s Raw Tag Team Championship victory with a 10-year child called Nicholas. However, money always talks, and they may feel they can help elevate tag team wrestling in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world, working with The Uso’s and Street Profits. Nevertheless, they are still contracted to AEW, and with the pair unwilling to engage in any shady business with WWE, it will be some time before they can discuss their careers with WWE management.
Last year former WWE Intercontinental Champion Don Muraco disclosed on his podcast that Terry Funk was in an assisted living facility suffering from dementia. This produced an outpouring of support for the legendary wrestler who means so much to so many fans and wrestlers who he entertained and inspired over the decades. However, Mick Foley, a long-time friend of Funk, has commented during a virtual autograph signing that he saw Funk recently, and the reports made it sound worse than it is, with Funk actually doing good.

It doesn’t seem long ago that Funk was hitting moonsaults in ECW, WWE, and WCW in his mid-50s. Still, he is almost 78 years old now and is sadly widowed following the passing of his wife of 54 years, Vicki, back in 2019. Thankfully though, Funk still has people who love him and look out for him, and hopefully, he can enjoy his golden years the best as possible.
Prior to the 15th of April episode of SmackDown, LA Knight would introduce his new stable called Knight Model Management in a dark segment. He would reveal that his first client was former Retribution member Mace, who has been repacked and appears to be called Mace The Face going forward. Now, before this past Friday night’s SmackDown went live, the former Impact Wrestling star would introduce his next client, with Mansoor, best known for his appearances on WWE’s shows in Saudi Arabia, joining the group. A fan in attendance would capture this on video, and you can view it below.
With none of this yet appearing on WWE television, nothing is official yet. However, the fact a second member has been added, and Mace now has updated entrance graphics since last week does make it appear WWE is preparing the group for television. The inclusion of Mansoor in the group makes sense, as while a talented performer and valuable for the company due to their agreement with the Saudi government, he has never been seen as a fantastic promo. So Knight doing the mic work for him will allow him to focus in the ring. Whether more members will be added to the group remains to be seen, but there are several talents currently not getting much tv time who would benefit.
Just two years ago, Scott Steiner would refer to WWE’s Hall of Fame as a “f*cking joke” while appearing on Dave Panzer’s Sitting Ringside podcast. He’d also say it only exists in Vince McMahon’s mind and, for good measure, buried Triple H by calling him a “mark” and “legitimate pussy.” Therefore when rumors began circulating that WWE was considering him and his brother Rick for induction this year, it seemed absurd even to think he’d consider it. However, as we all know, he would accept the invitation, and while talking to DetroitNews.com, he has revealed that he agreed to be inducted because he has matured.
You’ve gotta let it go, you can’t harbor all the bad feelings. You’ve gotta grow up.
Scott SteinerSteiner returned to WWE in 2002, having been away from the company for eight years, and this is where his animosity towards the company and Triple H began. The pair would feud over the World Heavyweight Championship, but while the first match was highly anticipated, it failed to live up to expectations. Steiner subsequently quickly fell down the card and was released just two years into his three-year deal while recovering from injury. Now though, with his nephew Bron Breakker being positioned as a star for the future, the former WCW has seemingly let go of his past grudges and received a Hall of Fame payoff in the process.
With Dax Harwood and CM Punk repeatedly talking about Bret Hart on social media and the Owen Hart Foundation tournament currently in progress, some fans believe the former WWE Champion is AEW-bound. The prominent rumor has been he’d be managing FTR, however, it appears that the recent indie appearance, which saw Hart appear alongside FTR, won’t be extending to AEW. This is because Dave Meltzer has reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter there is a belief within AEW that Hart has signed a deal with WWE.
While Bret already has a WWE Legends deal allowing the company to make figures and t-shirts of him, this wouldn’t have prevented him from working with AEW as Jake Roberts has the same agreement. Therefore if Meltzer is accurate, Hart has signed a separate contract, effectively allowing him to stay home while getting paid. Obviously, if correct, this would be a big win for Hart. And considering how much money he lost due to Goldberg effectively ending his career with a stiff kick, it’s hard to begrudge him for capitalizing on the rivalry between promotions.
If you’ve spent any time on social media over the past 24 hours, you’ve likely seen the video of Mike Tyson punching a so-called fan while on a plane. Apparently, the man was being obnoxious towards the boxer and, at one point, threw a bottle of water at him before being on the receiving end of a barrage of punches. TMZ would initially share the shocking video, and now the news source has revealed that the legendary boxer was on his way to meet with Ric Flair along with Rick Ross, which can be seen in the below video.
The WWE Hall of Famers recently went into business together, with Tyson’s company Tyson 2.0 set to release a range of edibles under Flair’s brand. The two are believed to have been friends for decades, with it well known that Tyson grew up a big wrestling fan, watching Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales in his youth. Since then, Tyson has worked for WWE himself; nevertheless, his most recent wrestling appearances have been for AEW.
It is understood that the man punched would seek medical attention after the incident and make a report to the police. However, as of writing, there has been no comment from authorities. Despite this, and the fact many fans seemingly feel his actions were warranted, he could still find himself in legal trouble. Additionally, a lawsuit could see Tyson writing a large check, with it known a similar incident from his past costing him $8 million.
Ever since the launch of AEW, fans have been clamoring for a video game, and while it has seemingly taken a long time, that is because the game is being created from scratch. However, the game’s name has now been revealed by Tony Khan following AEW’s Dynamite and Rampage taping on Wednesday. With the AEW head-honcho along with several wrestlers requesting the fans chant and cheer for AEW Fight Forever.
Only a handful of chants were recorded at the time, with “Boom,” “Bay Bay,” “FTR,” “Cash,” “Dax,” “Adam Page,” and “Sting” being captured. Although it has been claimed such records have taken place previously without revealing the game’s name. Seemingly indicating the company does not want to burn out the fans in attendance by having them record chants for dozens of wrestlers.
AEW Fight Forever is being developed by Japanese game studio Yuke’s, who previously worked on WWE’s SmackDown titles on PlayStation all the way through until WWE 2K19. The belief is the game has a tentative release date of September 2022 and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
In the late 90s, Randy Savage dated Stephanie Bellars after they met while she was dancing at a club, and he’d get her involved in the wrestling business as his valet in WCW. He would go on to purchase the name Gorgeous George from fellow WCW wrestler The Maestro for her. Still, once she broke up with Savage, she departed the promotion and lost the use of that name.
Subsequently, she claimed that Savage had hidden cameras in her house and that he was a big-time drug user, taking steroids and ecstasy, even appearing on Nitro while high. Now during a virtual autograph signing with Signed By Superstars, Bellars would comment on the infamous rumor that Savage had an intimate relationship with a young Stephanie McMahon while he was in WWE. Claiming he confirmed the story to her, and it was her that knocked on his door.

Back in 2004, a thread was started by Coach Tony K (rumored to be a big name in wrestling nowadays) on DeathValleyDriver.com asking about wrestling sleaze. This prompted one member to share the rumor that Savage had a secret relationship with Stephanie McMahon when she was 14 years of age back in 1994, and this was why he was persona non grata with WWE at the time. It should, though, be noted that at this time, Stephanie would have actually been 18, so there would have been nothing illegal about them being together.
While the story did seem outlandish, considering the age difference, Savage remained on the outs with the WWE for many years did raise questions. With it believable, Vince McMahon would be bothered with a wrestler in his 40s being with his teenage daughter. However, there has never really been any way to know how much truth there was. Nevertheless, if Bellars is to be believed, it happened, and a wrestling urban legend has finally been verified.
It isn’t a secret that AEW won’t be re-signing several talents that the company recruited when they first launched. This is because they now have a much more extensive roster and, in many cases, have upgraded significantly due to WWE’s mass releases. Previously, Joey Janela and Marko Stunt were two talents informed they wouldn’t be retained, and now Jack Evans can be added to that list.
Evans would announce this himself on Twitter. Yet while replying to fans, he would show he isn’t bitter, acknowledging that he wasn’t adding value to the product and believes the time he was absent from the ring played a part.
Evans’ AEW signing was announced in May 2019, and he would reform his Los Güeros del Cielo tag team with Angélico under the name of The Hybrid2. Initially, they were prominently feated appearing at AEW’s inaugural pay-per-view event Double or Nothing, Fight for the Fallen, and on the Buy-in for All Out. Since then, he and Angélico have become AEW Dark regulars, with his last high-profile match being a hair vs. hair match with Orange Cassidy on Rampage in September 2021.
The belief is now he will continue his career in Mexico, with him wrestling twice for RIOT last month, and he, his wife, and young children living in the country. While there is speculation that this news could also signify the end of Angélico’s time with AEW, his contract status isn’t known as writing. But as he has twice wrestled for AEW this month without Evans as part of the AFO, Tony Khan may see value in retaining him.
Since Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, collectively known as FTR, departed WWE to prove they are one of the top tag teams in the world, they have done just that. This month alone, they have competed in two match of the year contenders when they wrestled the Briscoes at ROH Supercard Of Honor and then The Young Bucks on AEW Dynamite. Now it appears they have recaptured WWE’s attention, as a report from Fightful Select states that the duo is wanted by the company they teamed for between 2014 and 2020.

WWE has expressed interest internally about possibly bringing back the team formerly known as The Revival. In 2019, the two passed up what were then huge offers of $850,000 each, with Mark Carrano even mentioning that he could possibly get them to $1 million each before they left for All Elite Wrestling. WWE is unable to approach FTR directly.
Fightful SelectIt seems unlikely that Wheeler and Harwood would want to return to WWE, considering that they have much more freedom now than when working for them. Nevertheless, money does talk, and back in December 2021, it was revealed FTR didn’t have long remaining on the AEW contracts. However, precisely how long isn’t public knowledge, as it’s understood their multi-year deal didn’t start when they first debuted on May 27th, 2020.
When competing as The Revival, they would win every tag title available in the promotion but wanted to leave due to their belief the tag division was an afterthought, citing Braun Strowman winning the Raw Tag Team Championship with a child. That said, WWE has recently presented the division stronger with SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Uso’s aligned with Romain Reigns and Raw’s Tag Team Champions being the popular double act of Randy Orton and Matt Riddle.
