LA Knight managed to gain popularity with fans despite not receiving a significant push. However, despite SummerSlam being two nights this year, he hasn’t managed to get on the card, leaving his biggest supporters dejected. And while Knight may be just thankful to be part of WWE, it now appears he would be open to working elsewhere after liking a comment on Instagram that said he should be put in the main event or let go to “be the main event talent he is elsewhere.”
42-year-old Knight, real name Shaun Ricker, initially wrestled for WWE a decade ago under the ring name Slate Randall. Yet, he only lasted on the NXT roster for just over a year before being released, which most assumed was the end of his WWE story. Still, he obviously didn’t give up on his dream, and after becoming Eli Drake on the independent circuit, he showed everyone what he was capable of as part of TNA and the NWA, opening the door for an unlikely WWE return and two runs as United States Champion.
