WWE To Use ECW Pay-Per-View Name For Big September Show

WWE To Use ECW Pay-Per-View Name For Big September Show

While WWE premium live events currently stream in the US on Peacock, as of writing no major shows are currently scheduled for September. Initially, it was believed this was simply because both SummerSlam and Clash in Paris take place in August, although it’s since been reported that WWE will be adding an extra show via ESPN. And while not yet officially confirmed, WWE insider @WrestleVotes has revealed the show will be called Wrestlepalooza.

This won’t be the first time a wrestling show has used this name, as ECW ran Wrestlepalooza shows in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2000. Only the 98 version would be a pay-per-view, and was headlined by Shane Douglas defending the ECW Champion against Al Snow. Still, reviews were overall negative, with some critics going as far as to call it one of the worst ECW shows ever.
