Will Ospreay has revealed to Tokyo Sports that he will be missing New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Dominion event at Osaka-jo Hall this year due to the show clashing with his wedding to fellow AEW star Alex Windsor. Still, the British star remains committed to competing in as many major NJPW matches as possible throughout 2026, as while AEW serves as his primary home, Ospreay expresses a deep emotional connection to Japan and hopes to spend more time with his longtime United Empire stablemates.
“I can’t appear at Osaka-jo Hall because my wedding is the day after the event, but I want to participate in as many big New Japan matches as possible this year. AEW is the best environment, but I have a special feeling for Japan, and I also want to spend more time with the members of United Empire.” – Will Ospreay
32-year-old Ospreay first arrived in NJPW in 2016 as a high-flying junior heavyweight, after earning a strong recommendation from AJ Styles. From there, he captured the Best of the Super Juniors in 2016 and 2019, along with three IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championships. Moving to the heavyweight division, he won the IWGP World Heavyweight Title, two IWGP United States Championships as the final holder, and the 2021 New Japan Cup. Additionally, he founded the United Empire stable in 2020, which is currently led by Callum Newman.
