Update On Miro’s AEW Contract

The start of Miro’s AEW wasn’t the best due to him being aligned with Kip Sabian and having a gamer gimmick. However, everyone involved seemingly realized this wasn’t working, and Miro would evolve into “The Redeemer” and “God’s Favorite Champion,” becoming one of the best characters and performers in the promotion. In recent months he has been absent from television, with it believed to be a creative decision, and seemingly, Tony Khan has big plans for him. As according to Fightful Select, the former WWE star has recently signed a four-year contract extension.

AEW has re-signed Miro to a four-year extension, that will keep him with the company until at least the start of 2026. We’re told that the deal was agreed upon late last year, but didn’t get signed for a little while after that.

Miro looked like a can’t miss talent when he was wrestling for WWE under the name Rusev. Yet Vince McMahon’s company would end up booking him to look like a fool after his real-life and on-screen wife Lana left him for Bobby Lashley. While Miro was promised a WrestleMania main event out of the feud, he would subsequently end up buried with Lashley consistently winning on television, while Miro would only prevail on house shows via disqualification. Having lowered his stock, WWE would release him as part of their budget cuts, and since signing for AEW, Khan has been focused on rebuilding him.
