On Monday, Laredo Kid took to X to announce that he was leaving TNA, stating he was “On a new path,” which many suspected meant he was returning to AAA or joining NXT. And while that is not yet confirmed, eagle-eyed fans have noticed that in addition to the popular high flyer being removed from TNA’s roster page, so has his tag team partner, Octagon Jr. Seemingly, this confirms both men have departed TNA, and it will now be interesting to see what is in store for them in the future.
Laredo Kid and Octagon Jr., collectively known as the Aztec Warrior, began teaming in 2021 in AAA and would subsequently work on Mexican indies, MLW, and TNA. However, thanks to WWE purchasing AAA, the duo would get to compete against Los Garza, which put them on the radar of many fans. Additionally, Octagon Jr. would get to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank, indicating WWE management saw a great deal of potential in the luchador as a singles performer.
