It was always known that once WWE and UFC merged to create a TKO, many jobs would go due to duplication. Still, that doesn’t make it any less disappointing, and it has now been verified that WWE has let go of two high-ranking employers over the past few days.
The first confirmed was Michael Levin by PWInsider.com, with the now former Vice President of International Events and General Manager of Emerging Markets let go after 7 years. His departure was particularly unexpected as he had attended Backlash France just last week. Additionally, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has reported that Steve Rubin, who was WWE’s Senior Director of TV Event Relations, has departed after 26 years, having worked up to that role from being a production assistant.
Following the closure of the TKO merger last year, WWE laid off well over 100 employees, not including talents, many of whom had been with the company for many years. Still, there appears to be no sentiment when it comes to big corporations nowadays, and this was proven when TKO parted ways with Sue Aitchison after she’d spent 38 years with WWE and even won their Warrior Award for her charity work.
