Following two years away from the company, Brock Lesnar made his WWE return at the end of SummerSlam to set up a future match with John Cena. And now, during the SummerSlam post-show, Triple H has discussed Lesnar’s surprise appearance and heavily implied that it was Cena who wanted his longtime rival to return so he could work with him during his final run.
While some fans have already expressed their disappointment that Cena would push for Lesnar’s return, given that he was mentioned in Janel Grant’s lawsuit, it’s not that surprising that he is prepared to overlook the allegations, having previously told Howard Stern, “I love the guy” when discussing Vince McMahon. Plus, it should be noted that despite Lesnar’s reputation being tarnished following the allegations made, the former UFC star has not been charged with a crime, nor is he even being sued, which likely played a part in Cena’s decision.
