Tony Khan Reveals Bots Are Being Used Against AEW On Social Media

A significant number of wrestling fans on social media are very tribal, and there seems to be some who believe if you enjoy WWE, you must hate AEW and vice-versa. However, it seems much of the anti-AEW sentiment shared isn’t actually genuine, as Tony Khan has revealed an independent study indicates bots are being used to boost the negativity. Additionally, Khan would suggest someone is paying a high price for this but didn’t name names due to likely not having firm proof.

A social media bot is an account created and run by an automated process for those unaware. And following Khan’s tweets, many of the profiles that spend their days criticizing AEW and their wrestlers have tried to ridicule the notion that they aren’t real. Nevertheless, bots are known to be a real issue, and a check of TwitterAudit.com shows AEW’s following is believed to be 96% authentic, while WWE’s is just 74%. Of course, it should be noted that when it comes to bots, anyone can control them, so even if 26% of WWE’s are considered to be false, it doesn’t mean the company is involved or even knows.
