Most fans believed The Rock wrestling at WrestleMania 41 was a forgone conclusion after his memorable in-ring segment with Cody Rhodes the night following WrestleMania XL, where he explained he had to go away for a bit (to film a movie), but once he returned, he’d be coming for him. And while it still remains unconfirmed whether he will perform on WWE’s biggest show of the year, the Hollywood star has now announced on his Instagram that he will at least be appearing on Raw’s Netflix premiere this coming Monday night.
“Until then, I’ll come back home to @wwe tomorrow night as we make history on @netflix and begin a new and exciting era.”
The Rock52-year-old Johnson began wrestling for WWE in 1996 after his football career failed to take off, and within a few years, he established himself as one of the biggest stars the company had ever produced due to his mic skills. Then, thanks to his mainstream appeal, he would eventually move into acting, becoming more well-known to the masses for his blockbuster film roles than his prior wrestling career. Still, he never turned his back on the wrestling industry and is currently helping elevate the business while being well well-paid via TKO shares.
