Sonya Deville Discloses How Vince McMahon Helped Her During Attempted Kidnapping Ordeal

Five years ago, a fan named Phillip A. Thomas II was arrested inside the home of Sonya Deville while in possession of a knife, duct tape, and mace. Obviously, this was highly traumatic for the former WWE wrestler, and now, while appearing on the Ariel Helwani Show, she has discussed this and revealed that Vince McMahon actually hired her a house in a different part of Florida to so she could feel safer.

“WWE sent security to meet me there to go in the house and get my stuff out. They got us a hotel in downtown Tampa. I was so paranoid … Vince rented a house for me to stay in, in a different part of Florida. My mom came to stay with me. Mandy [Rose] stayed with me a little. Mandy’s mom came and stayed, and hired 24/7 armed security.”Sonya Deville

At one point, Deville was struggling to move on from this frightening situation, and in 2023, she was arrested while visiting New Jersey after a parking valet found a firearm in her vehicle and reported her to the police. Yet, while this type of arrest gaining mainstream attention could have seen another talent released by the company, WWE management would understand, given the circumstances, and eventually, the charge was resolved after she completed a six-month program.
