According to a report from BodySlam.net, Tommaso Ciampa, a long-time WWE talent, is reportedly planning to leave the company when his current contract expires. This explains why he has been absent from Johnny Gargano’s side in recent weeks, with WWE likely wanting to phase him out quietly. Why he has chosen to depart the company is currently unknown, although many online believe he may be seeking a more prominent position with another company.
40-year-old Ciampa, real name Tommaso Whitney, debuted in 2005 on the independent circuit, and while he had a short run in OVW, he really made his name in 2011 with ROH. Joining WWE’s NXT in 2015, he formed #DIY with Gargano, and together they captured the NXT Tag Team Championship. After a dramatic heel turn, he subsequently became a two-time NXT Champion, leading to his move to the main roster in 2022, where he reformed #DIY and won the WWE Tag Team Championships twice.
