This past weekend, Seth Rollins put in a claim to be the new Mr. WrestleMania, having wrestled two huge matches and gotten involved in night 2’s main event. However, with it known he has been banged up for some time, Dave Meltzer has now reported that Rollins is set to take a hiatus from the company. Precisely, how long he’ll be away for wasn’t confirmed, although it is hoped it will only be about four weeks, which, if accurate, would see him miss Backlash.
“Seth Rollins will be taking time off after yesterday. The hope this morning was that this will be only about four weeks off.”
Dave MeltzerFour months ago, it was revealed that 37-year-old Rollins’ WWE contract is set to expire in July, and it was claimed that there had been no negotiations over a new deal. Whether that has changed since remains unknown, but it seems doubtful that WWE would allow one of their biggest stars to leave without making them a significant offer to re-sign first.
