“Kevin Owens was the champion, and I was going to beat him in the main event of WrestleMania as a babyface.” “Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar had a match, Brock really liked it and wanted to have a rematch. He put Goldberg over, and they had a rematch, but only if he won the title from Bill Goldberg. That was Brock’s idea, so they changed it. Vince said that it’s going to be me versus Kevin Owens for the world title at WrestleMania and you are going to win the title, fuck yeah! Next week, he doesn’t tell me, but I hear that it’s changed to Brock Lesnar versus Bill Goldberg for the title.” “And not only did they take us out of the main event – and, once again, just because I was told I have no right to it and things change all the time, I’m a big boy, I can handle it. But to take us from the main event slot and then move us to the 2nd match on the card on a card that has 12 matches on it? I was like, that’s a fucking insult!” “And I didn’t realize it at the time, but afterward, I guess about 3-4 weeks later, I was like, wait a second, we were 2nd on the card? It wasn’t even 1st. The first match on the show at a WrestleMania is a very important match, maybe event second only to the main event. But to put us on second is an insult and it doesn’t even matter now what I did.” “We had the best storyline of the year, but it doesn’t matter, it’s still not going to get me higher on the card to be second on the card at WrestleMania,” “I need to leave; that is how you know. When the time comes when you are put in that spot as an insularity guy? Then I went through this whole thing when I went on tour with Fozzy and had the Tokyo Dome match against Kenny Omega. This whole new world of creativity opened up and this whole new star power for Chris Jericho, and we drew a lot of money for New Japan at that Dome show. And that was how the road to AEW started.”Jericho would lose his match and title to Owens at WrestleMania. The main event of the show ended up being Roman Reigns beating The Undertaker in a No Holds Barred match.
It was thought that Luke Harper wouldn’t appear for WWE again after he publicly made it known he wanted his release from the company. WWE declined his request, fearing he’d go to AEW and added the time he had missed injured to his contract and would pay him to stay home until April 2020.
That changed late last week as WWE contacted Harper on Friday and told him to be in North Carolina for Clash of Champions on Sunday.
Harper was kept off the PPV format sheet and didn’t appear backstage until the Reigns vs. Rowan match had already started.
While Reigns was primed to hit a spear on Rowan, Harper appeared and hit a big boot on Reigns. Rowan and Harper would double team Reigns, and Rowan won after hitting the iron claw slam.
The plan now is for Rowan and Harper against Reigns and a tag partner at Hell In A Cell. You can guess who’ll be taking the pin in that match!
Former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez best known to wrestling fans as the man that beat Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 began pro wrestling training WWE Performance Center in 2018. Since then he made his in-ring debut with AAA at Triplemanía XXVII on On August 3rd, 2019 in 6 man trios match. He teamed with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown beating Texano Jr, Taurus, and Killer Kross.
Velasquez’s wore a luchador mask in the match and picked up the victory for his team by submitting Texano, Jr. with a Kimura lock and his performance generated a lot of buzz amongst fans.
Well, last night at AAA’s “Lucha Invades NY” event he vowed the fans in attendance with moves nobody with his experience level should have any right to do. You can view the highlights below, and all I can say is WOW! the full show and match is available on Fite.tv.
His short pro wrestling career has already caught the attention of New Japan who had informal conversations with him last month. Velasquez though has said he considers pro wrestling to be fun, but he still thinks he has unfinished business in MMA. Currently he is #8 in official UFC heavyweight rankings with 3 fights left on his UFC deal. You’d think once his MMA career does come to an end, he would have a run in a major wrestling company. A rematch against Brock Lesnar in a WWE ring would be printing money.
It’s been an eventful week for Irish wrestler “Session Moth” Martina, as not only has she signed with Ring of Honor but also received a follow from John Cena on Twitter.
Kevin Eck’s confirmed her rumored signing in his official ROH column, and apparently, she turned down an NXT UK contract to do so.
Initially, that sounds like an unusual decision, but her ROH deal will allow her to continue working for her current European independent promotions, and STARDOM in Japan.
Surpassing that news for her though is receiving a Twitter follow from her pro wrestling hero John Cena.
When Cena seemed to begin randomly following people on Twitter, Martina started campaigning to receive a follow herself, and he didn’t let her down. After two weeks of her and her followers trying to get his attention, he finally hit the follow button showing that he, like everyone else #fanciesmartina.
He said NEVER GIVE UP AND I DIDN'T!!!!!!! I guess it's officially true… @JohnCena #fanciesmartina #greatestdayofmylife pic.twitter.com/gTMW8oGQjH

Brian Knobbs of Nasty Boys fame has had a GoFundMe set up for him because he is suffering from a knee infection, and needs a total knee replacement. With limited medical insurance and his now inability to appear at wrestling events, and conventions, he is struggling to pay he, and his sick wife’s bills.
The target is to raise $10,000, and as of the time of writing, $4379 of this amount has been raised.
Knobbs has shared the below video thanking his friends and fans for their support and donations so far.
If you are willing and able to help, you can donate here.
Our thoughts are with Brian during this tough time.
If you’ve ever watched a Jim Cornette shoot interview, listened to his podcast, or read his Twitter, you’ll know he isn’t a fan of deathmatch wrestling. He has utter disdain for the actual wrestlers who wrestle this style, and considers them a blight on the pro wrestling industry.
Well, over the last couple of weeks deathmatch wrestler G-Raver caught Cornette’s attention after being injured doing a dangerous ladder spot involving light tubes. G-Raver was severely cut. A clip of the incident can be viewed here.
Cornette wasn’t sympathetic towards G-Raver, a 13-year death match veteran, and commented on Twitter:
That’s a nasty little nick the guy got on his arm there at the end, if the fans were lucky they probably stopped the show so everyone could watch this idiot bleed out.
G-Raver would reply:
Hey @TheJimCornette, let me see you at a convention. I’ll spit in your fucking mouth. You’ve done nothing to me. Now you’re an advocate for death?
The conversation would escalate between the two, and Cornette called the fact G-Raver had a GoFundMe to pay for his surgery “absolute insanity.”
At that point, it seems everything had died down until G-Raver reignited things by releasing the below t-shirt for sale on Tuesday.

The unsavory shirt angered Cornette who quickly got his legal representative involved. At the time of writing the t-shirt had been withdrawn from sale by TheIndyConnection.com.
It probably wasn’t a wise move by G-Raver to release an insulting shirt about a guy who has a lawyer on speed-dial. From a legal perspective, according to Cornette’s lawyer, the issue is “improperly appropriating my client’s likeness without his consent.”
If you want to help G-Raver with his surgery (and now potential legal fees), you can find his GoFundMe here.
In totally unrelated news you can buy a t-shirt of Jim Cornette pissing on Vince Russo’s grave on his official website.
A couple of weeks ago we wrote about Hellboy being in training for his All Japan debut. The reason for the match was to promote the release of the latest Hellboy movie in Japan.
It was scheduled to be Hellboy teaming with Jake Lee and Koji Iwamoto to against the team of Takao Omori, Black Menso~Re and Hokuto Omori.
Well, the match happened, and we just got hold of a link. It’s worth watching for the novelty value if you’ve 15 minutes to kill. It exists in a world where star ratings don’t apply, but has Hellboy coming out to Motley Crue’s “Kickstart My Heart,” so has that going for it.
For those of you who haven’t got time to watch the full match we’ve uploaded the finish which sees Hellboy winning with what I’ve just named a “Clothesline From Hell(boy).”
The Undertaker lives near Austin, Texas, and as College GameDay was airing from there, they booked him for the show. He received a grand entrance with fog and pyro, and it’s worth watching below.

Undertaker represented his beloved Texas Longhorns in their shirt and was in American Badass look.
Unfortunately for Undertaker, his Longhorns ended up losing 45-38 to the LSU Tigers.
Most of the interview on the day was about football and some MMA, but interestingly enough when Ric Flair’s name came up, Undertaker said: “he’s the man.” That remark probably didn’t go down with WWE’s legal team, given that Flair is threating to sue WWE over their use of “The Man” nickname on Becky Lynch.
That’s what I call an endorsement!!!

Nickla Roberts, better known to old school wrestling fans as Baby Doll isn’t happy with Nyla Rose, “taking the spot a woman should have.”
During a discussion in the Kult of Kayfabe Facebook group, she made the below comments on a thread discussing Nyla Rose possibly being the first AEW woman’s champion. For those unaware Nyla Rose is the first transgender woman to sign with a major American wrestling organization.

Due to the nature of her comments, and the vitriol she was receiving from other members of the group, she ended up being removed by an admin.
Chris Jericho couldn’t have known following his improvised backstage promo following All Out that an off the cuff comment was about to sweep the internet, but it did!
Jericho was having to celebrate becoming the first AEW champion by himself as nobody in the locker room was happy with him winning. He scolded staff and wrestlers and when he neared the catering area and saw champagne said: “Ooh, a little bit of the bubbly!” You can watch the full segment here.
The following day Twitter user @orinanne tweeted the clip, and it quickly became receiving views and retweets. Twitter user @JackLayzell then mashed it up with a video of Mambo No. 5, which Jericho himself retweeted. At this point, a viral phenomenon had begun, and fans began making their own memes. At one point the hashtag #alittlebitofthebubbly was trending around the world.
We are now one week removed from the promo and memes are still being created. Keeping up with all the latest ones has been almost impossible, so we here at WIJ have scoured the internet and put together a 21-minute video of the best memes we could find. If we’ve missed any, please tweet them to us @WebIsJericho and we will share them.
So order a t-shirt, grab a bottle of bubbly, and enjoy!
Korn’s new album “The Nothing” is 1 week away from release and if track 8, “Can You Hear Me” is anything to go by, it’s going to be awesome! It’s the 3rd song the band have released from the album so far, and reviews have been glowing.
NME.com wrote:
“In a year in which the giants of metal Rammstein, Slipknot and Tool have all delivered belting albums that will ensure their legacy endures well into the future, the pressure was on Korn to deliver. This urgent and important record will ensure the veterans don’t get lost in the shuffle”.
“The Nothing” will be released by Roadrunner Records on September 13, and is produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who also produced 2016’s “The Serenity Of Suffering.”
So far in Jericho’s career, he has gotten over Ralphus, scarfs, a potted plant named “Mitch,” friendship festivals, lists, and now a little bit of the bubbly.
The phrase was spoken by Chris in a backstage segment after AEW’s All Out PPV, and has become a viral sensation with people mashing the phrase into different songs and videos. You can watch 21 minutes worth of memes below.
With the phase blowing up and becoming an online phenomenon, it didn’t take long for fans to start clamoring for a t-shirt, and in typical Jericho fashion, he didn’t disappoint. Working alongside Pro Wrestling Tees he quickly got one released, and in the process smashed Pro Wrestling Tees record for most t-shirts sold in 24 hours ever. It also become the top selling shirt for the entire week in just 10 hours. That is amazing when you consider they produce shirts for Steve Austin, CM Punk, Shawn Michaels, and The Young Bucks, to name just a few.
Available for $24.99 at this link, you can be part of the hottest trend sweeping pro wrestling.
