In the late hours of the night, Randy Orton was drinking, vaping, and playing video games on Twitch with his friend. He started shooting the shit with fans and lots of interesting comments, which we will attempt to detail below, but the highlight was putting over AEW and specifically Sammy Guevara.
“Speaking of Vince, that AEW was fucking cool, huh? Did you watch that show last night? Oh, my God! I’ll tell you what. It’s that big match feel, the big show feel.”
“Cody and Sammy Guevara? That kid can do some shit. I’d love to work with that kid. They had a great match. And I thought opening the show with that match was a good idea and well received.”
You can listen for yourself below.

Sadly the actual stream has been deleted, presumably as Orton used the N-word. I have been told that the word wasn’t used in a hateful manner, but still was a poor choice of words. Hopefully, an apology will be forthcoming from Orton.
Reddit user KingEJ1 compiled the following notes from comments Orton made during the stream, which do make fascinating reading.
• He hates people that make a living off selling signed memorabilia. He told a story about how, when he was 20, he signed almost 100 pictures for one fan at an airport. Saying he used to look forward to signing things when young till he found out people would sell stuff.
•He loved everything about AEW and is happy for Cody, who he also called a good friend.
• His favorite match was Pac vs. Hangman Page.
• Went on a 5-10 minute tangent about how great of a mom and partner his wife is a partner and that she’d smoke, “and by smoke, I mean fuck up” any female in the WWE cause she’s from Brooklyn.
• He noticed like about five variations of the RKO or cutter during the show, which he thought was cool.
• The loudest crowd he heard in a while was South Korea.
• He wants to have a match with Will Osprey and is a big fan.
• He admires guys like Jack Evans and the Hardy Boys for what they put their bodies through.
•He loves Joey Ryan’s gimmick from the start despite many pros hating it.
• Kept up with Tyler Black in the indies and was excited by how good Seth Rollins was when he finally got to work with him.
• He went on a 5-10 minute tangent about how great of a mom and partner his wife is and that she’d smoke “and by smoke, I mean fuck up” any female in the WWE cause she’s from Brooklyn.
• Misses Sheamus, says he’s a great person to have in the locker room, a good friend and that they were movie buddies for a long time.
• Says just hearing Mark Henry talk in the locker room reminds him of the old days.
• Loves that there are a lot fewer assholes in the locker room than there used to be.
• He wouldn’t want to have a work with The Fiend because he doesn’t want to ruin the momentum. He would rather see how others work with him.
• Would love to have a match at Wrestlemania with CM Punk and would even go to AEW if it meant he got to work with him.
• Put over the USA as a country saying traveling to certain places put in perspective how good we have it here.
Orton will probably end up regretting being so open on Twitch as he’ll almost certainly be having a conversation with WWE executives today.
We posted last week how WWE had withdrawn their talent from the UK indie promotion Southside’s final show. The speculation at the time was because Southside had sold/merged with RevPro, who have a relationship with New Japan, and this annoyed WWE.
AEW then stepped in to save the day and are sending Shawn Spears and MJF to wrestle, plus Cody & Brandi Rhodes will appear.
It seems though there could be more to the story as William Regal posted the below on Twitter and then quickly deleted it.
Whilst I’m here in Brentwood UK, if Ben from Southside Wrestling wants to have a chat then i’d be happy to meet up. Then we can post out a video and explain the truth of why @NXTUK talent were pulled from your shows and your unprofessional emails to me.
— William Regal (@RealKingRegal) October 4, 2019
Regal is currently in the UK for the latest set of NXT UK tapings. Hopefully, we will get to hear WWE’s side of the story.
Last night on NXT, Tommy Ciampa made his return to the show following the main event tag team title match. NXT Champion Adam Cole was on the stage when Ciampa came out, and the paired stared each other down.
Former champion Ciampa had been out of action since having career-threating neck fusion surgery in March, which caused him to relinquish the title that was expected to keep him out for upwards of a year.
It did seem obvious he was medically cleared, as it would have been unlikely WWE would have had Ciampa return to television if he was not ready. WWE confirmed it on their @WWENXT Twitter account.

The return to the ring of Ciampa is excellent news for WWE as NXT lost the first week’s rating battle to AEW Dynamite.
The ratings are in for the first installment of the Wednesday Night Wars, and it is AEW who will be breaking out a little bit of the bubbly.
AEW Dynamite debuted to 1.4 million viewers, with NXT having 891,000 viewers (down 11% from last week).
TNT executives were said to have believed anything above 500,000 would be a success, and this has well outdone that.
This isn’t a good sign for NXT as WWE loaded the show with title matches, had limited commercials, and had a 15 minutes overrun. With the current roster, they will burn out of big matches quickly if they continue like this.
WWE issued a statement congratulating AEW on Dynamite’s premiere, as you can read below, probably anticipating the first-week defeat based on early projections.
“Congratulations to AEW on a successful premiere. The real winners of last night’s head-to-head telecasts of NXT on USA Network & AEW on TNT are the fans, who can expect Wednesday nights to be a competitive and wild ride as this is a marathon, not a one-night sprint.”
Last night Game Changer Wrestling held their “Curtain Call” show to say goodbye to their talent who are now starting full-time with AEW including Joey Janela, Marko Stunt, and Jungle Boy.
Also appearing on the show was viral internet sensation Super Humman who is the self-proclaimed “World’s Greatest Stuntman.” For those unaware, his “career” took off after appearing on Tosh.0, and he has built up a substantial online following since posting videos of himself front flipping onto barbwire, hitting a butt buster onto a wheelbarrow, elbow dropping microwaves and even diving into Lego! It sounds terrible, but he is a real showman. Check out his Facebook page to watch past videos and future ones.
Regarding the GCW event, during the Orange Cassidy vs. Ethan Page match Super Humman would run in and hit Page with a chair, ducked a clothesline and hit a stunner that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin would have been proud of. The video is below.

The full event is available now as a replay on Fite.tv and features Nick Gage vs. Matt Tremont vs. Orin Veidt vs. Shlak, Joey Janela vs. Jimmy Lloyd, Jungle Boy vs. Jake Atlas, and more.
This won’t be Super Humman’s last foray in the wrestling business as he will be making his in-ring debut for Atomic Revolutionary Wrestling on October 11th in a five-way match against Joey Ryan, Sharkboy, Chuckles and Jerry Swirlz and Chuckles.
Rick Bognar, best known to wrestling fans as “Fake Razor Ramon” has passed away at the age of 49. He had retired in 2001 and was working as a life coach and a “transformational” speaker.
His brother would post Rick’s Facebook account that his brother had passed on 20th, September. No other details were available.

The Canadian wrestler, spent three years in local indies before joining FMW in Japan in 1991 when he would go on to be World Martial Arts Heavyweight Championship. He would also win the Brass Knuckles Tag Team Championship with The Gladiator (Mike Awesome).
He’d wrestle for Wrestle and Romance and briefly in ECW as Big Titan before Bret Hart got him a tryout with WWE, where he’d go on to compete as Razor Ramon,m after Scott Hall had left for WCW. Vince’s lawyer Jerry McDevitt reminded Vince McMahon he owned the names Razor Ramon and Diesel as WWE owned them. Glenn Jacobs would play “Fake” Diesel.
Despite being trained by Jim Cornette’s to copy Hall’s mannerisms and moves, fans never took to the gimmick, and he left the company once his contract expired.
He would go back to Japan with New Japan and joined the Japanese version of the nWo. He would injure his neck while on a tour and would end up retiring.
Southside Wrestling in the UK are running their final show on 26th October and had agreed with WWE to bring in some locally known talent to make the event memorable. The wrestlers booked were El Liger, Joseph Conners, Kay Lee Ray, Ilja Dragunov, Saxon Hurley, and Xia Brookside. All part of WWE’s NXT UK brand and some of whom had a significant history with Southside Wrestling.
Shockingly, less than one month before the scheduled show WWE pulled the 6 booked talents despite Southside meeting all WWE’s conditions.
We are truly broken hearted 🙁 pic.twitter.com/Em7UMoYmhS
— Southside Wrestling (@SouthsideWE) September 25, 2019
The speculated reason for the pulling the talent is Southside Wrestling is merging/being purchased by another UK promotion RevPro, who have a connection with New Japan Pro Wrestling and that is a problem for WWE.
Once this news broke on social media, word got to Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks who said they would look into what AEW could do to help Southside Wrestling.
Well, earlier today Southside announced via their Twitter account that AEW would be sending both Shawn Spears and MJF to the event.
THANK YOU @AEWrestling@Perfec10n and @The_MJF will be at 9AS , more news coming soon. pic.twitter.com/fXZ6pry7sY
— Southside Wrestling (@SouthsideWE) September 27, 2019
So while not a perfect solution, and I’m sure Southside would have preferred to have had the homegrown talent they had previously booked, AEW have delivered ensuring that Southside can still run their show, and hopefully go out in a blaze of glory.
This incident has made WWE look petty and vindictive, especially as it was Southside’s final show. AEW now having saved the day will be seen as the babyfaces to WWE’s heels in the UK.
Raw’s main event of Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman had Rollins seemingly beat when the lights went out and The Fiend attacked Strowman with the Mandible Claw.
That wasn’t where the show ended for the fans in attendance as, before the usual dark match, The Fiend and Seth Rollins continued their angle. The Fiend initially received the Curb Stomp with him no-selling it. Rollins would then hits numerous superkicks and three more stomps. The lights suddenly went out go out, and The Fiend disappeared running the aisle. You can watch the angle below from fan-filmed footage.
Rollins and The Fiend had their first matches over this past weekend at house shows in Calgary and Edmonton where reportedly The Fiend also no-sold the Curb Stomp. The finish to both of these matches saw Rollins winning by DQ when The Fiend wouldn’t release the Mandible Claw with Rollins on the ropes. Of course, this finish won’t work when the pair complete at Hell In A Cell inside the Cell for the Universal Championship.
Former two-time WWE Woman’s Champion and five-time TNA Knockouts Champion Victoria/Tara, real name Lisa Marie Varon has announced her retirement from in-ring competition.
Her first WWE appearance was as one of The Godfather’s Hos before becoming an in-ring competitor and winning her first WWE title from Trish Stratus 4-months later. She’s also famously competed in WWE’s first-ever female steel cage match on an episode of RAW versus Lita in 2014.
Her plans to retire had been known since earlier this year. Varon had announced her intentions on social media and made promoters aware this would be their last chance to book her.
Her last match was against Melina at Masters of the Ring Entertainment on Saturday 21st September where she won the promotions woman’s championship.
You can read her announcement below:
What is next for Lisa Marie Varon isn’t known, but she surely would be an excellent choice for a WWE Hall of Fame induction.
Jushin “Thunder” Liger had a surprise for fans at New Japan’s “Destruction in Kobe” event with the return of his alter-ego Kishin Liger.
For those unaware Kishin Liger’s is Jushin Liger’s alter ego. Think Bray Wyatt becoming “The Fiend,” or Finn Balor transforming to “Demon Balor,” but based on a modification of The Great Muta gimmick.
The return came when Liger took his mask off after hitting Minoru Suzuki with a low blow. Kishin then spat mist into Suzuki’s face and tried to stab him. The stabbing attempt was a throwback to Kishin’s debut in 1996 where he attempted to stab The Great Muta.
It was a hell of an angle, and you can watch it below. It’s made even better by the Japanese commentary.
https://twitter.com/njpwworld/status/1175694920171970560
As already mentioned Kishin first debuted in a match against The Great Muta in a losing effort in 1996. Since then he appeared against Bad Boy Hido in 2006, and in a 2012 tag match against Taichi and Taka Michinoku.
With 3 months left of his career before retirement, it’s going to be a fun time to follow Liger. His farewell match will be at Wrestle Kingdom 14 on January 4, 2020, presumably against Minoru Suzuki.
We reported 3 weeks ago that Kylie Rae had requested and received her release from AEW. Some sources said she was dealing with medical issues and that she could be finished with professional wrestling.
Well, things can quickly change in pro wrestling, and Kylie Rae returned to the indie scene on Saturday night wrestling her boyfriend Isaias Velazquez in an Intergender match as a short-notice replacement for Freelance Wrestling.
The videos below seem to show her in excellent health and performing at her usual high standard.

Her release from AEW could go down as one of wrestling’s great unsolved mysteries. It’s pure speculation on my part, but I expect an NDA was signed, so it’s dubious we’ll ever find out the real story.
