“We would never do anything like this on TV. Our friends at TNT know what we’re trying to do in putting hardcore matches in the main events of PPVs. There’s gonna be two wrestlers that wanna settle it so we’re not gonna sanction it. We’re gonna turn the lights off and turn a blind eye to it and not be liable for what occurs in the ring. I think it’s a very logical thing and I’m not surprised that people are shocked. I think most people did love it. It got a huge amount of interest and it did exactly what we wanted it to do which was start a conversation. To me, I absolutely loved it.”

At the very start of this week’s “After The Bell” podcast, Corey Graves issued an apology to Mauro Ranallo for his tweet this past weekend that resulted in him deleting his twitter account an missing Survivor Series. You can listen to it below.
Corey Graves’, um, apology to… someone pic.twitter.com/B1RlkaALIN

“On a personal note, I need to address something. This past Saturday during the Takeover War Games event, I sent out a tweet. It was an unpopular opinion, as I often do with the intention of just stirring up a little controversy, maybe have something fun to talk about on TV or here on the show. It was maybe not the most professional way to go about things. It was never meant to offend or disrespect or disparage anybody. That was never my intention. If it was taken as such, I apologize deeply. That was not my intention. I would never intentionally cause anybody any undue stress, especially a co-worker. So, I apologize.”
As reported earlier Mauro Ranallo’s future with the company is in doubt with him due to miss NXT tonight. Hopefully, though this apology can go someway to repair the damage caused.
The comment on Twitter by Corey Graves this past weekend that resulted in Mauro Ranallo deleting his Twitter and missing Survivor Series has also now lead to him missing tonight’s NXT.
You can read all about Graves tweet here, but basically, Graves said that Ranallo wasn’t allowing Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuinness to speak on commentary during NXT TakeOver: War Games. Ranallo who suffers from bipolar disorder took this comment badly.
WWE covered for Ranallo missing Survivor Series by claiming Ranallo had strained his voice the night before at the TakeOver event. Ranallo had been due to commentate on some portions of Survivor Series with Graves.
At the moment Ranallo’s future is unknown, but Tom Phillips is expected to fill in tonight.
Ranallo has left WWE previously by mutual consent after being bullied by JBL, although he did say publicly at the time it had nothing to do with JBL.
Dave Meltzer reported on his post-Raw audio show that Vince McMahon was furious with Seth Rollins for making reference to CM Punk during his promo on Monday.
McMahon doesn’t want to build up fan’s hopes for something that isn’t going to happen, and the reference could be interpreted by fans as starting something between Rollins and Punk.
For those who missed it, during CM Punk chants, Rollins said:
“Hey look, guys, I tried to get him here, I’m sorry, he didn’t want to show up. He wants to sit behind a desk in Los Angeles and talk about a change he’s too afraid to make himself.”
It would seem that Meltzer is spot on with his claims because WWE has edited that out of the YouTube video of the segment as you can see below.
CM Punk chants never really went away, and with him joining “WWE Backstage” they are bound to become even more prominent, especially after Rollins drawing attention to them.
WWE is currently in the process of locking down their talent to new contracts with Randy Orton, The Miz and Paige all having recently signing new deals.
Lana confirmed earlier today we can add her to that list via her Twitter.
I just signed a multi-million dollar deal with @WWE !!!!!!!!!!
Congrats!— Lana (@LanaWWE) November 26, 2019
Her new contract is for 5-years and allows her to work on outside projects.
Interestingly her husband Rusev has yet to sign his deal. It would appear to be a foregone conclusion considering Lana signing, but there are examples of people in the industry working for different companies than their spouse such as Renee Young and Dean Ambrose.
Trademarking the names of old wrestling events is all the rage right now because after Cody Rhodes registered numerous WCW event names, WWE has jumped on the bandwagon.
WWE has applied to register “Barely Legal” the name of the first-ever ECW PPV in 1997, plus “Cyberslam” which was an internet fan convention and show between 1996 and 2000.
It isn’t known yet what WWE is planning to use these names for.
There has been much speculation regarding why Kylie Rae decided to request her release from AEW and then return to indie wrestling.
Due to her not commenting some outlandish rumors were being spread, but Kylie Rae has now addressed this on her Instagram as you can read below.
So there you have it, she was not forced out of AEW and thankfully is in a better place mentally now.
It may just be a coincidence, but following a negative Tweet from Corey Graves who refers to himself as “The Savior of Misbehavior,” Mauro Ranallo has deleted his Twitter account.
During NXT’s Takeover: WarGames event Graves would tweet the below, obviously aimed at Ranallo.
Sometime after the tweet being sent and the time of writing, Ranallo’s account disappeared.
It can’t be confirmed that Graves tweet was the reason for Ranallo opting to delete his account, but given his well-publicized battle with bipolar disorder, no matter what you think of Mauro’s performance, this seems harsh from Graves.
Earlier in the week, AEW announced they were using the former WCW PPV name “Bash at the Beach”. The name had been trademarked by Cody Rhodes after WWE had let it expire.
It was also revealed that Cody also owned the trademarks on The American Dream, The American Nightmare, Dusty Rhodes, The Match Beyond, Battlebowl, Bunkhouse Stampede, and The Prince of Wrestling.
Now it seems he has he filed trademarks for both “Slamboree” and “Superbrawl.”
“Slamboree” was a WCW PPV event from 1993 through May 2000, “Superbrawl” was a WCW PPV event from 1991 through February 2001.
We now wait to see if the trademarks are approved, and then how they will be used.
Following on from the controversy of making a racist comment on this past weeks episode of NWA Powerrr, and his subsequent resignation from the promotion, Jim Cornette made the below comments on his latest podcast.
“It was a starvation joke. Not a race joke! Starvation is a hilarious topic. Whether it was a good joke or a bad joke, it was a joke that has been told on TBS, USA Network, broadcast television stations over a variety of locations for the past 30 years. The point is the joke is suddenly not good for YouTube.”
“I’m not that sorry, cause it was a joke. And if you don’t like the joke, that’s fine, and I’d even apologize for a bad joke. But this goddamn feedback was above and beyond the offense. And I didn’t mean it in any racist way, for fuck’s sake. I think the people that took it instantly as racist think that must be the only thing on people’s minds when they think of black people and chicken. Which that’s a whole nother issue that you’ve got. Cause I’m going for Starvin Marvin.”
“To anyone who was legitimately offended by a bad joke in kinda sort of a way and would accept a reasonable apology, as humans sometimes do … yes, I’m sorry. Because I didn’t intend it that way.”
You can listen to the whole episode below on YouTube.
WWE talents have been making it public on social media they want out of their contracts, and when asked about this Triple H said this was not professional.
Oney Lorcan had requested his WWE release privately but was still been turned down. This hypocrisy from Triple H obviously irritated Oney, who is now going by his indie name Biff Busick on social media.
He would post on social Twitter:

Interestingly, ACH did receive his release yesterday after weeks of publicly criticizing WWE for racism.
