NBCUniversal now has the rights to the WWE Network in the United States and is currently moving the content to their Peacock streaming service. While fans were initially shocked at how long the process is taking, it appears the delay is because the content is being edited to meet 2021 standards. Previously we reported that WrestleMania VI had the match between Roddy Piper and Bad News Brown removed due to Piper painting himself half black, and Survivor Series 2005 has had Vince McMahon’s use of the N-word cut. Since then, Peacock has also edited a highlight package feating DX dressing up as the Nation of Domination.
One segment which many fans expect to hit the cutting room floor is where Edge and Lita were supposedly going to get it on in the ring. Of course, WWE didn’t go through with it, but it got very risqué with both performers in their underwear. Now an interview with the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast, Edge was asked about Peacock’s censorship of WWE’s content, and this segment was mentioned.
Edge is true with wrestling being put in a different category. It isn’t a legitimate competition, so not really a sport. However, at the same time, it isn’t deemed a television drama where controversial subjects are often embraced.
It will be fascinating over the coming months to see what further edits are made before content is made available to stream on Peacock. The Attitude Era alone, which featured Trish Stratus being forced to bark like a dog, choppy choppy your pee pee, and the Big Bossman being hung, will almost certainly end up heavily edited.
Over recent years, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Sting, and Christian all returned to the ring, having been previously forced to retire through injury. A mixture of time away and improved medical knowledge made their returns possible and left many fans wondering if other former talents could eventually make a comeback. One of them is Paige, who sadly had to retire following a neck injury sustained during a six-woman tag team match on December 27th, 2017, and has not wrestled since.
WWE would keep her involved due to her popularity, and she briefly managed Asuka and Kairi Sane and became a contributor on FOX’s studio show WWE Backstage. Although now she mainly works on non-WWE projects despite having multiple years on her contract remaining. Now speaking to Renée Paquette on her podcast, the former WWE Divas Champion has revealed her neck is feeling good. Although she added that mentally ready to return to the ring due to a paralyze.
It does scare me, and I know I am not going to be fully ready mentally to come back but watch out, world. When I am mentally ready to come back, everyone is in trouble.Paige
Paige revealed during a recent Twitch stream that she plans to have another exam on her neck, so she is undoubtedly serious about making a return eventually. She is only 28 years old, so it would be fantastic if she could safely have a second run. However, with multiple screws in her neck and previously saying she has the neck of a 60-year-old, unless she can get medically cleared, WWE or any other major promotion would risk using her.
The sad passing of Jon Huber united the wrestling world, which speaks volumes for the man that Huber was. AEW would dedicate an entire episode of Dynamite to his life, while WWE opened Raw with an in-memory of tribute graphic and shared a video package on social media. Many wrestlers also took it upon themselves to pay tribute in their own way, such as Lance Archer dressing like Luke Harper and Drew McIntyre referencing Huber’s Twitter catchphrase saying, “It’s Monday, you know what that means,” during a Raw promo. The New Day would go as far as to have new ring gear designed and made for the Royal Rumble, which you can see below.
Following the pay-per-view, Big E tweeted that the trio would be auctioning off this gear for charity. With the bidding now over, Big E has shared the fantastic news that he has sent over $11,300 to Foodlink based out of Rochester, New York, which was Huber’s hometown. This was a fantastic gesture, and a great selling price which surely made the Huber family proud.
Legendary WWE superstar “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has been hosting his Broken Skull Sessions for the WWE Network since 2019. During the show’s run, he has interviewed numerous notable guests, including Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and Sasha Banks. The interviews are always a fascinating peek behind the curtain and worth going out of your way to watch.
Yesterday WWE began teasing the next guest with a countdown clock that featured music from Chris Jericho’s iconic entrance music. However, as Jericho is signed to AEW, it seemed WWE was simply repurposing the music they owned. However, it appears that wasn’t the case, as today’s video, which you can watch below, reveals it is, in fact, Jericho.

It goes without saying this is an unexpected announcement. While not every guest who has featured on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions has been under WWE contract, nobody expected an AEW talent to be permitted to appear. While WWE has previously worked with Impact Wrestling to license footage for the WWE Network, this is a whole different level.
The episode is set to premiere on Sunday, April 11, on Peacock in the U.S. and the WWE Network throughout the rest of the world.
The Inner Circle have been absent from Dynamite selling the beating they received from The Pinnacle led by MJF. However, they dramatically returned this past Wednesday hiding in the restroom of The Pinnacle’s dressing room, and a backstage brawl would ensue, which saw The Inner Circle get their revenge.
Shawn Spears received a GTS and had his head slammed in a door, Wardlow was put through a massage table, Cash Wheeler was dumped in an ice bath, Dax Harwood who struck by part of a broken chair, and MJF had his head dumped in a toilet bowl and was then put through a Pepsi fridge.
While it was a great brawl and entertaining segment, it didn’t go perfectly, as Harwood was legitimately be busted open off-camera and was bleeding profusely. Following the match, the FTR star would require stitches, and AEW shared the gruesome video of him receiving them on Twitter. We won’t embed it in this article as it isn’t advertiser-friendly, but you watch it here.
Clearly, the feud between the Inner Circle and The Pinnacle is far from over, and many fans have speculated it will likely result in AEW’s version of the WarGames type match, set to be known as a Blood and Guts match. If that is the program’s direction, someone might need to watch out as they could be due a receipt.

Last night, Dynamite’s main event was an Arcade Anarchy match between Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy against Miro and Kip Sabian, who Penelope Ford accompanied. The rules were falls count anywhere, and there were arcade machines around the ringside area. Taylor and Cassidy would be victories, seemingly blowing off the feud, however the big news was two injured AEW stars made their returns during the match.
First to return was Kris Statlander, who had been hiding inside a claw machine and putting Ford through an air hockey table with a fisherman buster. Statlander had been out of action since June 2020 after suffering a knee injury during a tag match following an attempt to dive on Kip Sabian, who was accompanying Penelope Ford. She landed on her knee and needed ACL surgery, so it made sense for her to get involved from a storyline perspective.
Then, during the match’s closing minutes, Trent returned in the back of his a minivan driven by his mom Sue. After getting involved in a brawl with Miro, he’d eventually putting him through a table, taking him out of the match. Since mid-December, Trent had been out with a partially torn pectoral muscle, which apparently happened during a 12-man tag match featuring the Inner Circle. Although on television, it was said to be from a backstage attack by Miro, Sabian, and Ford.
Following the match, Taylor, Cassidy, Trent, and Statlander celebrated together in the ring as Cassidy’s newly licensed theme song Where Is My Mind by Pixies played, and Sue gave them all the thumbs up. The belief is now with the feud concluded that Miro will now begin focusing on his singles career, with it known, his long-term aim in AEw is to become world champion.
The Hurt Business has been one of WWE’s most dominant stables in many years. Between them, the members have held the WWE Championship, United States Championship, Raw Tag Team Championship, and 24/7 Championship. With Lashley headed to the WrestleMania main event, it looked like the group would play a crucial part in the show.
However, WWE seemingly no longer rates Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin, as they had them drop their tag team titles to The New Day and then being overcome by Drew McIntee in two on one handicap match. These defeats resulted in them being attacked by Lashley and kicked out the group, leaving The Hurt Business’ future in doubt.
Later in the night, having defeated first Richochet and the Ali, Drew McIntyre would call out Lashley. Although instead of standing face to face with his WrestleMania opponent, he was attacked from behind by Baron Corbin and hit by a Deep Six. This allowed Lashley the opportunity to put him in the Hurt Lock while Corbin observed.
Once Raw had finished, many fans wondered if Corbin was now an official part of The Hurt Business or acting as a mercenary. Apparently, it was the latter because MVP has taken to Twitter and confirmed that Corbin is not a group member and the group is just Lashey and him. He did, though, tease future recruits by saying they are always looking for talented members.
We are always looking for talented applicants.
Have the day you deserve.MVP
We’ll need to wait and see if The Hurt Business does take in any recruits because, as was seen with Benjamin and Alexander, joining the group immediately elevates someone. Ultimately it looks like WWE still has big plans for the stable, and there won’t be a shortage of talents hoping to get involved for the extra television time and push.
Last night’s episode of Impact Wrestling on AXS featured James Storm wrestling his 1000th match for the promotion. It was fittingly against fellow TNA original Eric Young. Sadly Young would suffer a torn ACL during the match and is scheduled to have surgery soon but still finished the match. However, what had fans of Impact Wrestling talking following the show was Chris Harris’ return to the promotion after a decade away.
His entrance came during a backstage segment, which first saw Storm pay tribute to the late Bob Ryder, who was involved in starting TNA and owned 1Wrestling.com. Then Jake Something and Chris Sabin, who were with Storm, introduced his former America’s Most Wanted tag partner, and the pair would hug. You can watch this nice moment below.

With Young being accompanied by the rest of his Violent By Design faction, Storm would come out with Harris, Something, and Sabin. This led to Harris getting involved in the finish when he punched Young following a ringside confrontation. Harris would throw Young back in the ring, and he was hit by Storm’s Last Call Superkick and pinned. The four babyfaces would then pose on the ramp as the show went off the air.
It isn’t known if this was simply a one-off appearance, although Young did say in an interview that despite being injured, he did participate in an eight-man tag at the last set of tapings, so Harris may have wrestled in that. If Harris does compete, it will be his first match since 2018.
While Harris did compete for WWE on their ECW brand in 2008, his most significant career success came when he teamed with Storm between 2001 and 2006. During that time, they won six world tag team championships, were voted Tag Team of the Year by Wrestling Observer readers and won TNA’s 2004 Match of the Year when they faced Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper at Turning Point.
Over the weekend, Tracy James, the wife of Road Dogg, shared the worrying news that he had possibly suffered a heart attack a few days earlier. Considering the 51-year-old has underlying health conditions and his brother Brad Armstrong passed away in 2012 aged just 50 for the same reason, so this was a scary situation. She would later update fans, informing them he was scheduled to undergo a cardiac catheterization.
This procedure is where a tube is inserted into an artery or vein and threaded into the heart, providing doctors with information on how the heart is performing. Originally it was scheduled to take place on Monday but was delayed and instead was carried out earlier today, which happens to be Tracy’s birthday. Thankfully the results were positive, and she shared this good news by saying she got the best birthday gift ever.
This is excellent news, and we look forward to reporting the WWE Hall of Famer has made a full recovery. Hopefully, this also means he can return to his job as a producer for WWE’s NXT brand when he is ready.
Many fans and wrestlers criticize the WWE Hall of Fame for numerous reasons, and one of the most mentioned ones is the celebrity wing. Some of these individuals arguably deserve recognition due to memorable appearances or helping make the company money, like Mike Tyson, Mr. T, and Donald Trump. Others were quickly forgotten or barely involved, such as Drew Carey.
While the Class of 2020, which is being inducted a year late, initially didn’t have a celebrity announced, that has now been altered, as Star Trek legend William Shatner will be joining the celebrity wing. WWE announced his inclusion earlier today, and it should be noted they specifically referred to him as a member of the Class of 2020. Therefore leaving open the possibility of a Class of 2021 inductee being announced ahead of next Tuesday’s ceremony.
Shanter never had a significant influence on WWE but has made multiple appearances over the years. His first appearance came in 1995, where he monkey flipped Jerry Lawler on Raw before returning the following week in Bret Hart’s corner for a match against Jeff Jarrett, which saw him punch The Roadie. Shatner returned in 2007 to induct his former foe, Jerry Lawler, in the WWE Hall of Fame and then in 2010 to guest host Raw. Since then, he has done narration work for the WWE Network and made a guest appearance on WWE The Bump.
