Chelsea Green was one of the ten wrestlers released by WWE on April 15 and is now preparing for life post-WWE. While she is very popular among fans and likely to have no problems getting bookings, the fact Green is Canadian but living in Florida could be set to cause her issues. During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, she would discuss this and revealed she and Matt Cardona have spoken about bringing their wedding forward.
I was released on Thursday night, and on Friday morning, Matt is on his way to Wisconsin. I texted him, saying, “We need to get married, so you need to think about when that’s happening.”Chelsea Green
With Cardona, best known best to fans as Zack Ryder being from New York, getting Green her documentation should be a formality once the pair tie the knot. The couple has been dating since January 2017 after he slide into her DMs, and their relationship went so well they became engaged on On April 4, 2019, Green’s 28th birthday. The couple was likely hoping for a big wedding filled with friends and family, but given the circumstances, they may need to make do with a smaller ceremony to keep Green in the States and wrestling.
Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has had a working relationship with WWE long before his cousin Sasha Banks was with the company. He has appeared on a couple of Raw and WrestleMania’s and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame celebrity wing in 2016. Nevertheless, he upset Vince McMahon’s company when he appeared for AEW back in January.
He was on Dynamite to promote the Go-Big Show that he and Cody Rhodes appeared as judges on, and in addition to a backstage segment, he’d climb the ropes and hit Serpentico with what was described on commentary as a “Snoop Splash.” The actual move wasn’t performed well, but Snoop was having fun and seeing as he wasn’t trained, safety was the top priory.
Now, during an interview with Hot 97, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that WWE told had told him due to getting involved with AEW, they needed to cease working with him for a bit due. However, just two weeks later, they came back to him requesting him to be in their upcoming video game, and Snoop boasts he got them to pay double.
WWE pays big money to talents appearing in their games, so Snoop getting double is likely a significant amount. While the rapper is a big star, it isn’t like the game’s success depends on him being included, so it’s possible with AEW working on their own game, they didn’t want to risk him appearing in a competitor’s game.
As previously reported, Charlotte Flair’s storyline suspension is due to her getting dental work done. During a recent episode of his Wrestling Observer Radio show, Dave Meltzer would discuss this and add that she is having a complete makeover because women are made to feel subconscious about their looks in wrestling. This audio clip was shared on Twitter, and Charlotte Flair would get to hear it and fired back at the pro wrestling journalist. You can listen to Meltzer’s original audio and read Charlotte’s tweets below.

Meltzer writes the most well-known “dirt sheet” in the wrestling business has started the publication in the 80s. While some wrestlers like our own Chris Jericho embrace that by having him as a guest on Talk Is Jericho, and Konnan has also claimed to have seen a copy of the newsletter on McMahon’s desk. Others are not fans, including Seth Rollins and Miro, who have called Meltzer out previously by accusing him of spreading false news.
Charlotte’s comment regarding learning his lesson about commenting on women’s bodies is about Peyton Royce, who Meltzer stated back in 2018 was “a lot lighter” before leaving NXT. Royce would ask Meltzer in a now-deleted tweet if she should starve herself. This resulted in several wrestlers piling on Meltzer and promoted him to apologize publicly.
On Friday morning, it was reported by the Chicago Tribune that Steve McMichael, a Chicago Bears legend in the 80s and wrestler for WCW in the 90s, is suffering from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a type of motor neuron disease. It is also known as Lou Gehrig disease due to the famous baseball player being diagnosed with it in 1939.
The 63-year-old was diagnosed three months ago and has already lost over fifty pounds in weight and can no longer lift his arms or hold anything. He is expected to need a wheelchair shortly. The average life expectancy for someone with ALS is sadly only two to five years, but it is possible to live longer with Stephen Hawking, having lived more than 50 years after being diagnosed.
While to the masses, McMichael is known for his NFL career, which saw him play to win the Super Bowl during a twelve-year career with the Bears, he is best known to wrestling fans for his run in WCW. He started as a commentator on Nitro before entering the ring as a competitor at The Great American Bash in 1996. He’d team with fellow NFL player Kevin Greene to take on Arn Anderson and Ric Flair before later joining his opponents as part of the Four Horsemen.
In just over 100 professional matches, he’d win his only championship when he defeated Jeff Jarrett for the United States Championship at a Clash Of The Champions event in 1997. His final match came in 1999 at a house show where he teamed with Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko defeating Barry Windham, Curt Hennig, and Wrath.
Prior to his WCW run, he made an appearance on WWF’s flagship show Raw, where he provided guest commentary and brawled with Kama Mustafa leading up to appearing ringside for Lawrence Taylor’s match with Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania XI. Nine years after departing WCW and being out of the wrestling limelight, he would guest referee a tag team Monster’s Ball Match for TNA due to the show being held in a suburb of Chicago.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover the costs of his care, and his family is searching for a handicap-accessible home. So far, $31,173 has been raised of the $100,000 goal from 423 donors in 17 hours. If you’re in a position to help, you can at gofundme.com/f/teammongo.
Lucha libre legend Konnan successfully underwent kidney transplant surgery in 2007. This was necessary due to years of painkiller and anti-inflammatory medication usage. Sadly though, it has now been reported by Dave Meltzer in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the former WCW star requires a second kidney transplant.
On average, a kidney transplant lasts between 10 and 12 years, so Konnan’s first would be classed as a success. Thankfully he doesn’t need dialysis at present, but it could eventually be necessary. He is currently on a waiting list that is estimated to be seven years long in the US, so he is also looking at the possibility of getting the procedure carried out in Mexico.
Our thoughts are with Konnan at this time, and hopefully, he can continue his roles with AAA, MLW, and Impact Wrestling while waiting for the transplant.
Peyton Royce, whose real name is Cassandra McIntosh, was among the ten wrestlers released by WWE on April 15th, ending her six-year run with the company. As WWE has owned the trademark on “Peyton Royce” since 2019, she will need a new name to continue her wrestler career.
Having already updated her Twitter account to @CassieLee, she officially filed trademark applications on April 19th for the name.
The first was for merchandise, with the second being live appearances in professional wrestling. Additionally, she filed an amended application for “Cassie Lee Swim” for swimwear. She had initially filed this last year, but there had been a discrepancy on the paperwork as she used her married surname of Arneill.
The former WWE star still had time remaining on her non-compete clause, and it isn’t known where she intends to wrestle once it expires. There is speculation she could join All Elite Wrestling due to being married to Shawn Spears, giving her a potential opening.
Mickie James was one of ten wrestlers released by WWE last week, and on Thursday, she shared a photo on Twitter with her belongs returned to her in a trash bag. This caused several fans to criticize WWE over this and prompted both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to apologize on Twitter and reveal the person responsible has been fired.
It’s understood the person let go was Mark Carrano, who was formally Senior Director of Talent Relations and is best known to fans for appearing on Total Divas. He had been with the company for several years, and it’s believed he was already on borrowed time after John Laurinaitis was brought in to run his department. Since James shared her tweet, both Maria Kanellis and Jillian Hall have revealed they had received similar treatment when let go by the company. So with Hall having been released over a decade ago, WWE sending belongs in trash bags has been going on for some time, with other members of WWE management apparently only now becoming aware.
Mick Foley won the WWF Championship three times, with his most memorable triumph being his first when as Mankind, he defeated The Rock thanks to aid from Steve Austin. It was an unbelievable moment that delighted wrestling fans around the world who had followed the ups and downs of the Hardcore Legend career. The match took place on December 29, 1998, but aired on January 4, 1999. Famously Tony Schiavone would share the result on WCW Nitro, saying, “that’s gonna put some butts in the seats” at the behest of Eric Bischoff. This spoiler would see 600,000 fans switch channels to witness the moment.
NOw to pay tribute to Foley and his title victories, WWE has produced a replica Mankind championship belt as part of their Signature Series. The belt is based on the one held by Foley but also includes brown straps and metal rivets like those on his iconic mask and “Have A Nice Day” on the back. Additionally, it comes it the world’s biggest Mr. Socko instead of a belt bag. You check out the design for yourself in the below unboxing video that Mick Foley uploaded to his new YouTube channel.
The replica belt can be purchased through WWE Shop at this link and costs $499.99. However, as of writing the code, WWEAFF25 will get you £25 off.
Having missed WrestleMania due to WWE’s doctors mistakenly telling her she was pregnant, Charlotte Flair is again off television. On Monday night’s Raw, she would take out her frustration of being defeated by Asuka by attacking the referee Eddie Orengo after the match, with other referees needing to get involved. This resulted in Adam Pearce announcing in the storyline after Raw that Charlotte was now indefinitely suspended and fined $100,000.
It seemed an odd time for the 12-time world champion to be taken off television, but according to Wrestling Daily, she requires dental work doing. It wasn’t revealed exactly what that dental work entails, but the belief is she won’t miss too much time. Whatever the problem is, it most likely only just occurred, as it doesn’t make sense for WWE to have her return to Raw for two weeks, just to take her off again.
Charlotte has had dental issues previously and said she lost teeth wrestling Carmella in Germany during 2018. However, as nobody in attendance saw blood and she returned to the tour not long after, it’s speculated that she didn’t actually lose teeth, and it was either her veneers or crowns that had been chipped or knocked off.
This morning former WWE Raw Women’s Champion and UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion shared the exciting news that she is four months pregnant. She announced this in a now-deleted YouTube video, saying she could no longer hide the baby bump and revealed the due is September 22nd, but the gender was bleeped.
This will be Rousey’s first child, although she is already a stepmother to her husband Travis Browne’s two sons from a previous marriage. It isn’t known why the YouTube video was deleted. Still, WWE followed up shortly afterward on social media, saying “The Baddest Baby on the Planet is on the way!”
The news came as a surprise to fans as WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan only recently stated that Rousey was set to return to the company at a “certain period of time.” It isn’t known if Khan was aware of Rousey’s pregnancy when he commented, but clearly, it will be a while before she steps back into a wrestling ring.
Rousey last competed for WWE in April 2019 at WrestleMania 35, afterward stating she was stepping away from wrestling to start a family. However, she would later say on the podcast of Jackass star Steve-O that she was unhappy with how many shows she had to attend. She’d also state she’d never wrestle a full-time schedule again and called WWE fans ungrateful, setting herself up to be a big-time heel if and when she returns.
Chris Masters debuted for WWE in 2005, with the company having high hopes for him and pushed his version of the Full Nelson as unbreakable. This led to the move being protected and the birth of The Master Lock Challenge. The challenge lasted for two years before being officially beaten by then ECW Champion Bobby Lashley, who WWE wanted to make one of the faces of the company. Now in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Masters has discussed how he feels that Lashley has taken on the finishing move as his own.
The exact origin of the Full Nelson is unknown ith some historians suggesting the set of Nelson holds came from Bobby Nelson, who wrestled between 1936 and 1959. Most fans, though, will likely best know it as being used by Ken Patera, Billy Jack Haynes, Superstar Billy Graham, and The Warlord before Masters.
While from a storyline perspective it would make sense for a Master Lock vs. Hurt Lock angle, it’s unlikely ever to happen considering Lashley is one of WWE’s top talents, while Masters has been out of the limelight since his 2011 release, except for brief runs in Impact Wrestling in 2015, and 2017. Right now, he wrestles for Billy Corgan’s NWA and currently holds their NWA National Championship, but it seems he is a long way from a WWE return.
