Saturday night was Game Changer Wrestling’s Draft Day event being held in Las Vegas. After Nick Gage had successfully retained his GCW Championship against AJ Gray, Jon Moxley, who just happens to live in Vegas, hit the ring and brawled with Gage. The pair fought in the crowd, and Moxley ended up being left laying after a DDT from Gage. A brief video of this was captured by a @KelDansby who was in attendance which you can watch below.

Last month the pair had a similar altercation at the promotions April pay-per-view event, but that time Moxley got the upper hand after hitting Gage with two paradigm shifts. It now seems inevitable that Gage and Moxley will face off in the future. This match would be the first time the duo have faced off in over a decade, having feuded over the CZW World Heavyweight Title in 2009 and 2010. The match is possible due to Moxley being allowed to take non-AEW dates subject to approval from Tony Khan.
Gage was the latest Dark Side of the Ring subject, which covered the bank robbery he committed in 2010. H stole $3,000 and went on the run for a week with his girlfriend. He ended up turning himself in and was sentenced to five years in prison. He would get out early on parole but would be imprisoned again due to a drug-related parole violation. Moxley himself would feature prominently in the Vice documentary.
Jimmy Uso returned to SmackDown on the 7th May edition aligned with Romain Reigns and his brother Jey. He would appear in a backstage segment with the pair, and Jimmy was unhappy at how he was spoken to by Reigns and stated, “I ain’t nobody’s b*tch.” Then this past Friday night, Jimmy would be wearing a t-shirt declaring “Nobody’s B*tch” which is already on sale for both Jimmy and Jey on WWEShop.com.
With WWE always being keen to protect their intellectual property, it turns out the company filed for the trademark on the phrase “I’m Nobody’s B*tch” on May 11th. This seemingly indicates it will be a featured part of The Uso’s characters from now on. With WWE promoting themselves as a PG company, it’s surprising they’ve decided to go this direction. However, they may feel the additional t-shirt sales and making the brothers edgy characters make up for any backlash they receive.
The Pinnacle and Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle battled it out in AEW’s WarGames inspired Blood & Guts match on the May 5, 2021, episode of Dynamite. A victory could only be achieved via submission or surrender, and with Jericho on the top of the cage and unable to defend himself, Sammy Guevara surrendered to save Jericho from being thrown off the structure by MJF. Although despite being victorious, The Pinnacle’s leader would still launch Jericho off the cage.
Jericho actually landed on a crash pad, cardboard boxes, and a covering designed to look like the stage to give the impression of a severe bump while protecting Jericho. However, the stunt didn’t go precisely to plan, and Jericho suffered a dislocated left elbow. While Jericho’s appearance on this week’s Dynamite featured him with his arm in a brace, it appeared he was just selling the bump, but clearly, that wasn’t the case.
The belief is Jericho needs four-six weeks to fully recover. Still, he won’t be able to stay out of the ring for that long as he is scheduled to wrestle at AEW’s next pay-per-view Double or Nothing on May 30, 2021. While the match has not yet been made official, it is expected to be confirmed imminently after MJF challenged The Inner Circle to a Stadium Stampede match at the event, with the stipulation that if the Jericho’s faction loses, they must disband.
Over his career, Jericho has been fortunate with injuries that require time away from the ring. While he has obviously suffered injuries over his thirty-year career, the only severe one came during his days wrestling for Jim Cornette’s Smokey Mountain Wrestling. Jericho, along with Lance Storm, were preparing to face Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray in a street fight, and ahead of the show, Jericho was practicing a shooting star press. He would, accidentally, land on his right arm and broke it in the process. Jericho did, though, still compete in the match, which at the time was one of the biggest to his career with his arm in plaster, and you can watch it on YouTube.
The wrestling world is currently mourning the loss of Jerome Young, better known to wrestling fans as New Jack. He passed away on Friday in North Carolina at the age of 58 from a heart attack, leaving behind a wife and children. He will be remembered as a polarizing character who left his mark on the world of pro wrestling.
While his career spanned almost 30 years and multiple promotions, he will always be remembered for his time in Extreme Championship Wrestling in the 90s. The man who brought him to the promotion, Paul Heyman, paid tribute to the ECW original this week’s episode of Talking Smack. Initially, he said he hoped New Jack had faked his death and that while WWE would typically show footage of a deceased wrestler, they couldn’t with such a non-PG performer. He’d conclude by saying that he wishes everyone an extreme weekend, Gangsta style.

Heyman always stood by New Jack, and the former ECW head-honcho spoke up for him during his trial for the Mass Transit Incident. This was when New Jack brutally assaulted Eric “Mass Transit” Kulas in a match when the untrained seventeen-year-old lied to Heyman to get on the show. His testimony would help New Jack get acquitted. Despite the negative attention Jack brought to ECW and almost costing them their opportunity on pay-per-view, Heyman would keep him on their roster until the company closed in 2001.
The wife of Jerome Young, better known to wrestling fans as New Jack, has confirmed to PWInsider.com that her husband passed away Friday afternoon in North Carolina. The cause of death is said to have been a heart attack.
The ECW original had previously retired in 2013, but like so many wrestlers before him, he couldn’t stay away from the ring and returned in 2015. His final match took place just last month, following an 18-month hiatus when he competed in a six-man tag match for ICW No Holds Barred in Florida.
New Jack initially became known to wrestling fans in Jim Cornette’s Smoky Mountain Wrestling in 1994 and jumped to ECW in 1995. However, the general public learned about him due to the Mass Transit Incident when he brutally assaulted Eric “Mass Transit” Kulas, an untrained seventeen-year-old who lied to Paul Heyman to get on the show. He was charged with aggravated assault but was later acquitted and subsequently likened himself to OJ Simpson. Following that incident, WWE never had any interest in him, and once ECW went out of business, he was consigned to the independent circuit and occasional appearances for TNA.
New Jack will be remembered as a polarizing figure in wrestling. Some fans will always consider him an outspoken charismatic entertainer. In contrast, others just saw him as an unsafe worker who on occasion performed despicable actions on those who trusted him with their bodies. Regardless of anyone’s opinion, he left his mark on the world of pro wrestling, and it’s unlikely they’ll ever be another wrestler as controversial as he was.
Last year Sonya Deville faced a terrifying situation when Phillip A. Thomas II was arrested inside her home while possessing a knife, duct tape, and mace. He’d admit to police at the scene that he was planning on kidnapping her. Subsequently, he was charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief and faced life imprisonment.
It’s now been learned from court documents that on May 10th, two doctors gave testimony after evaluating Thomas, and it has been deemed he is not mentally competent to stand trial. Instead, Thomas has been committed to the Florida State Hospital who treats patients with severe mental disabilities. By law, Thomas cannot be held for more than five years as not mentally competent to proceed. This means if Thomas is still deemed to have not mentally recovered, he would have the charges dropped. However, before being released back into the community, medical staff would need to recommend he is ready to a judge.
Thomas first began stalking Deville on her social media in 2019 under the Twitter username @Phillip80400010. On the day of the incident, he parked his car nearby and cut a hole in her patio screen, remaining there for between three and four hours. Once Deville had gone to bed, he entered the house through a sliding glass door and accidentally activated the alarm. Upon hearing this, Deville fled her home with Mandy Rose, who was staying with her, and called 911.
Cody Rhodes is no stranger to trademark disputes after having to abandon several former WCW event names he had applied for in exchange for his legendary surname from WWE. Additionally, he has been keeping his trademark attorney busy trying to secure the trademark of his father’s famous nickname, “The American Dream.”
Cody has been trying to secure this for years but has been rebuffed by the USPTO twice previously. Once in 2019 and again in 2020. The reason being he hasn’t been able to provide them with the documented evidence they require that he had been involved in its use in pro wrestling. Sadly for Cody, documentation uncovered today has revealed that his application was abandoned on March 31st, meaning he officially has missed out on the name.
However, on last night’s episode of Dynamite, Rhodes would challenge British wrestler Anthony Ogogo to a match at AEW’s upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view. During the patriotic promo, Cody would declare that he would be going by the name “The American Dream” Cody Rhodes for one night only. While it could be a coincidence, the timing seemingly indicates it could be related to securing the trademark.
By competing under “The American Dream” name, Cody will be producing the evidence required by the USPTO. Thus allowing his trademark attorney to submit a new trademark application and likely secure the nickname that clearly means a great deal to him.
Thea Trinidad was fired by WWE on November 13th, 2020, due to her refusing to follow the companies controversial policy of not working with third parties. This would prompt her to tweet out her support for pro wrestling unionization, resulting in former U.S Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang commenting on the topic.
Since then, Trinidad hasn’t wrestled for any other promotions, even though her non-compete clause expired months ago. And it’s now been reported by Fightful that she was back at WWE’s Performance Center. The belief is she wasn’t there visiting her husband Aleister Black, who is set to return to the ring after a long hiatus, but actually involved in filming for a potential return.
Trinidad’s dream had always been to wrestle for WWE, and except for when she was signed with TNA, she would try out for the company every year after becoming a wrestler in 2010. She eventually got her opportunity to wrestle in a WWE ring in 2016, facing then NXT Women’s Champion Asuka on a 2016 episode of NXT, and nine months later, she would get offered a WWE contract and became Zelina Vega.
During last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the AEW World Title Eliminator match between Orange Cassidy and PAC was meant to go to a 20-minute draw. This was to set up a triple threat for the AEW Championship with Kenny Omega at Double or Nothing. The promotion got to that at the end, but everyone had to improvise after Cassidy got knocked loopy with several minutes left.
Cassidy received a stiff-looking kick followed by a Liger Bomb by PAC, and Cassidy rolled out the ring, clearly hurt. The match came to a halt while Cassidy was checked on, and when it resumed, Pac was trying to kill time, obviously to preserve the time limit draw finish. However, with significant time left, an audible was called, and Don Callis came out early and distracted Pac, allowing Omega to jump in the ring and layout PAC with the belt resulting in both me being counted out. Omega would then say he would have the night off at the pay-per-view as he had no opponent, but Tony Schiavone would announce a three-way.
Following the show, the big question everyone was asking was how Cassidy was doing. Thankfully, according to multiple reports, it’s understood he didn’t suffer a concussion and was socializing backstage. Obviously, he will be monitored ongoing before he competes again, and as of now, the triple threat match at Double or Nothing is still scheduled.
Darby Allin went into his TNT Championship defense with Miro with storyline injures and likely some real ones after being thrown stairs by Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky last week. Despite a valiant effort, Allin, who has been one of AEW’s breakout stars since debuting, would pass out to Miro’s Game Over finisher. This ended his championship run at 186 days, but he is the longest-reigning champion since the TNT Championship was introduced last year.
Dynamite went off the air with Allin still prone on the mat, but once the show was off the air, he would address the fans’ attendance. He told them he wasn’t interested in the AEW Championship and would be TNT Champion again. Thankfully for those not in Jacksonville, Twitter user @FLWrestlingFan would capture this passionate promo in the below video.

With AEW seemingly pulling the trigger on Miro’s big push, it could be some time before Allin gets the belt back. However, with Allin aligned with Sting, it would appear a tag team program against Sky, and Page is in his immediate future.
The A&E Network is currently running a series of documentaries on legendary WWE wrestlers, and among them is Randy Savage. His episode aired earlier this month and drew a lot of criticism from fans who considered it a hatchet job. While other featured wrestler’s documentaries overlooked many of their subject’s flaws and scandals, Savage’s seemed to be at the forefront.
It was portrayed that Savage skipped out on WWE at the time, and the first Vince McMahon knew was when he saw Savage on WCW television. However, Savage didn’t debut for WCW until December, and the previous month Vince McMahon announced that Savage had left WWE. It felt like this was done to paint Savage in a negative light.
Among those interviewed in the documentary was Eric Bischoff, who was the man that brought Savage to WCW in 1994. Subsequently, speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff has stated that he was embarrassed to have been part of it. Explicitly mentioning the inclusion of Bubba The Love Sponge. The shock jock had taunted Savage on air during his later years and even brought up Savage soiling himself on the documentary.
I like to think my criticism is constructive, and I don’t like to pick on individuals, but had I known what this biography was going to be, neither my wife or I would have participated. Had I known they were going to put Bubba the f***ing Love Sponge in this thing, I would have said thank you, but no thank you.Eric Bischoff
The most unexpected claims made during the documentary were by his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Bellars, who managed him under the name Gorgeous George in WCW. She alleged that Savage had cameras hidden installed in her house and that he was a big-time drug user, especially with ecstasy, and appeared on Nitro while high.
Claims like this will no doubt tarnish Savage’s legacy, and it’s unlikely WWE would have included them if made against another former talent. For those curious, the entire episode is available to watch online for those in the US or with a VPN internationally at this link. Just note that it contains factual inaccuracies, and the second half is more similar to a Dark Side of the Ring episode than something usually made in association with WWE.
Chelsea Green was released by WWE on April 15th, 2021, despite having signed a three-year contract just five months previously. While some wrestlers would take a break to regroup, the former Impact Knockouts Champion wasted no time planning for the next chapter of her career by applying for multiple trademarks.
One of them was “50 Shades Of Green,” a podcast that she launched on April 22nd and so far has released three episodes. However, Green has revealed on Twitter that she received a cease and desist letter over the use of the name. Subsequently, she announced she has renamed her podcast to “Green With Envy.”
It hasn’t been revealed who the cease and desist letter was sent on behalf of. A Google search reveals 50 Shades Of Green is used by multiple businesses, so it could be from several companies or individuals. Hopefully, for those of us with inquiring minds, Green will provide additional details on a future edition of her now-renamed podcast.
