Chelsea Green made her SmackDown debut nine months ago, in what was her first match in six months. She was a surprise participant in a fatal 4-Way Survivor Series Qualifying Match and booked to win. But unfortunately, things went wrong when she was dropkicked off the ring apron by Liv Morgan, and upon landing on the ringside mats, broke her left wrist. With her set to win, an audible had to be called, and Morgan would instead get the victory.

Having since being released by WWE this past April, she is currently sharing many behind-the-scenes stories on her Green With Envy podcast. And this week, she explained that she twice requested permission from WWE to have surgery breast augmentation surgery. WWE would, though, decline despite her not being on television at the time, which she said made her bitter. Nonetheless, following her SmackDown injury, she decided to do it anyway.

So I broke my arm, and I thought, I’m not even joking, one of the first thoughts I had while I’m in the emergency room. I thought you know what? F*ck ’em, I’m getting boobs. So, I have surgery on my broken arm that night, November 13th or 14th, and I get out of surgery, and my first call was to the plastic surgeon.

Chelsea Green

She’d go on to discuss how nerve-racking it was due to not telling WWE, and she would turn up to the Performance Center wearing a baggy sweater. However, due to her being released before making her comeback, the company never found out. Although she would add that she has purposely waited until her 90-day non-compete expired before publicly announcing this.

Green is currently proving there is life after WWE, with her diary full. At present, she is working with Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and Billy Corgan’s NWA simultaneously. Although the belief is, she would love to return to WWE. Yet, given this disclosure, WWE management may be reluctant to give her another opportunity.

Gary Wolfe is best known to wrestling fans for his time in ECW as Pitbull #1 and recently was a guest on the Wrestling Inc Daily podcast sharing an outlandish conspiracy theory. Being suspicious about all the recent WWE releases, Wolfe believes Vince McMahon owns AEW and is seemingly doing it to share talent across the promotions. Wolfe would specifically mention Paul Wight, who says in a favorite of McMahon, and he wouldn’t just let him join a rival.

I watch WWE here and there. I’m very confused about how they’re releasing so many people, I don’t understand that. I’ll give you an example. I think Vince McMahon may own AEW. That’s just my opinion. Why is his guys rolling, and they’re going right there. I mean, I know Paul, I knew Paul before he was a wrestler. I know Vince loves him, and Mark Henry’s another guy. What’s going on? He’s getting rid of all the big guys, don’t make any sense. I’m starting to think that there’s a relationship between Vince McMahon and Tony Khan and AEW.

Gary Wolfe

Obviously, neither Vince McMahon nor anyone associated with WWE owns AEW, and it seems outrageous to even claim. However, in Wolfe’s defense, he was part of ECW, and it was later discovered McMahon had secretly been involved in financing the promotion. This would be exposed when it was discovered WWE was owned almost $600,000 in bankruptcy documents. Hence it’s understandable why he would be suspicious regardless of it not thought through. Furthermore, Wolfe isn’t the first wrestling personality to speculate about the possibility of a WWE and AEW partnership. Back in 2019, Vince Russo would frequently discuss the likelihood of this on his podcast and would tweet these claims.

Before his recent return to television, Keith Lee hadn’t wrestled since February, having been replaced by John Morrison for a triple threat match at Elimination Chamber. Since then, there had been much speculation on why he was absent, with the most prevalent rumor being that Lee has been suffering from health issues.

Now though, Lee has uploaded a video to YouTube where he verifies that this was accurate. He reveals a heart issue was discovered in his blood work, and he required multiple scans and was not allowed to train.

QUOTE

I was basically forbidden from training or any activity outside of a light walk. There was a fear that doing more than that, that there was a chance that I could just up and pass away.

So this became a fight against death, so to speak, and it took up until the company sent me to Pittsburgh to get looked at. It was to the point where I was about to have to undergo genetic testing and all sorts of things because it was thought that there was a potential I could have a heart disease of sorts.

Very fortunately, even though it took a long time, we waited that amount of time, for that allowed the inflammation in my heart to eventually go down to normal. So even though the first MRI was bad and the second one was worse, over time, things got better here and there. And eventually, after that visit, I was cleared to try and get back into some sort of shape. That’s where the real struggle is.

But, yeah, it took some time. And to be honest, it wasn’t even certain that I was going to show up in Dallas in terms of on TV.

Keith Lee

Lee returned to Raw three weeks ago to answer an open challenge set by WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, fresh off his dominating victory over Kofi Kingston at Money In The Bank. With the show being held in Dallas, Keith, who is a Texan, had the crowd fully behind him but ultimately would be defeated clean in just under six minutes. Since then his has traded wins with Karrion Kross and wrestled dark matches before both Raw and SmackDown.

Two years ago, Brian Knobs of Nasty Boys fame was bedbound in hospital due to a knee infection. Sadly, it’s now been revealed that he has again been hospitalized, with him needing to be rushed to the emergency room via ambulance on Tuesday due to suffering from stomach issues. The belief is he will reside in the hospital for the next few months, and a GoFundMe has already been launched to help cover his medical bills and required knee surgery due to him only having limited medical insurance. As of writing, a total of $8,147 has been raised towards a goal of $20,000 from 97 donors.

Knobs’ wrestling career began in 1985 as part of AWA and his mainstream run pretty much ended following his departure from WCW in 2000. Along with tag partner Jerry Sags, he would get a tryout ahead of a potential WWE return in 2007, but those in attendance said the march didn’t go well, and WWE didn’t follow up. His last hurrah came in 2010 following his longtime friend Hulk Hogan signing with TNA. The duo would join him there for a feud with Team 3D before leaving the promotion after an altercation at a TNA function which Spike TV executives observed. Since then, the 57-year-old has been wrestling on the independents and autograph signings at conventions. However, that ended in 2019 when his knee issues severely limited his mobility.

On February 24, 2021, it was announced that Paul Wight, formally known as The Big Show in WWE, had officially signed with All Elite Wrestling to be both a wrestler and commentator. To say the news was unexpected would be an understatement, as Wight had appeared on WWE television the prior month and was thought to be a WWE lifer. Initially, he was hired to work alongside Tony Schiavone for AEW’s YouTube series AEW Dark: Elevation. Still, it had been known he would at some point compete in the ring.

Now it appears his in-ring debut for AEW is close, as, during this week’s episode of Dynamite, he would make the save for Tony Schiavone and his son Chris when they were being assaulted by QT Marshall, Aaron Solo, and Nick Comoroto. The live crowd popped huge for Wight’s entrance which featured vocals by Joe Altier, who sang on his legendary WWE theme “Crank It Up.” Once in the ring, Wight chokeslammed Solo and then would stare at QT Marshall, who had left the ring, teasing an upcoming match between them.

[adthrive-in-post-video-player video-id=”704ygNIR” upload-date=”2021-08-12T12:55:48.000Z” name=”Paul Wight Makes Save Schiavone’s” description=”” player-type=”default” override-embed=”default”]

Wight last wrestled in 2020 when he lost an unsanctioned match to Randy Orton on Raw. While WWE did offer him a new contract, both parties could not agree on terms. This opened the door for the former seven-time world champion to join AEW and end a twenty-plus-year association with Vince McMahon’s company. With AEW’s next pay-per-view All Out scheduled for September 5, that would seem the most likely event Wight will wrestle Marshall on. However, with AEW about to debut their new show Rampage and now needing to have matches on two A shows every week, it could take place on television to help to attract WWE fans.

With Bray Wyatt set to be a free agent on October 29th, there has been a lot of speculation about the former WWE star joining All Elite Wrestling. Unfortunately, though, he will not be able to take The Fiend gimmick with him because WWE owns. Although it appears he is already teasing his new character on social media ahead of announcing his next move.

Now on one of his YouTube shows, former WWE, WCW, and TNA Writer Vince Russo has suggested Wyatt doesn’t stay in the wrestling business and instead heads to Holywood. With the Russo believing with some help, he could become the next Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger.

I pray to God, bro, please get a Hollywood agent, flesh out this character the way that you saw this character. You flesh it out, your image, your creation, get together with a screenwriter. Bro, you’ve got the next Jason, Freddy, for the next ten years. Please don’t go to AEW. This guy is better than wrestling. Please, bro, trust me on this. This guy could be the next horror icon, doing it his way.

Vince Russo

Due to Wyatt’s family history in the wrestling business and the amount of money he is likely to be offered, it seems doubtful he would leave the wrestling business. Although stranger things have happened and Wyatt is known for his imagination and is often described as a creative genius.

It should be noted Vince McMahon regularly took legal action against WCW whenever he felt they infringed on his intellectual property during the Monday Night Wars days. Given this, both Wyatt and whatever company he ends up working for need to be very creative not to open themselves to legal issues.

Bray Wyatt was unexpectantly released by WWE on July 31, just eight days before he was set to return to television. The reported reason was budgetary cuts, but some knowledgeable people, including Sean Waltman, have called that into question. Regardless of the reason, Wyatt needs to start over as he cannot use The Fiend character going forward because it is legally WWE’s intellectual property. However, he is clearly already working on something else as he has posted a creepy image on social media captioned with “You can’t kill it.

Due to his 90-day non-compete clause, Wyatt cannot sign with another wrestling company until October 29. Although speculation is already building that AEW could be his next destination, and with their Full Gear pay-per-view taking place November 6 in St. Louis, Missouri, it would seem the most opportune time for him to debut as this new character.

Wyatt faces a considerable challenge to create a character that can get over as much as The Fiend did in WWE. Still, with words like genius and artist regularly used when describing him, this fresh start will allow him to demonstrate that to his doubters.

An ex-girlfriend accused Jimmy Havoc of both emotional and verbal abuse as well as and punching a fan after an indie event. This resulted in him being sent by AEW to counseling to address mental health and substance abuse issues. Upon completion of this, AEW management decided to release him, and the British wrestler who’d been living with Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford returned to the UK.

Since then, he has not been active on social media, and his situation wasn’t publically known. However, it’s now been revealed in a photo taken by himself that he is currently working for courier service DPD delivering parcels. It isn’t known if he has retired from wrestling, but given the reaction when promotors looked to book others named in the #SpeakingOut movement, it’s doubtful anyone would want to deal with the fan backlash.

Havoc began his career by training alongside Zack Sabre Jr. and Finn Bálor before making his debut in 2004, working throughout the UK. He’d became the first British wrestler to compete in CZW’s Tournament of Death and made appearances for TNA when they toured the UK. However, his big break in appearance came through MLW, where it is believed he caught the attention of Tony Khan, and he would debut for AEW as part of Double or Nothing Casino Battle Royale in 2019.

During last week’s Raw, fans in attendance would loudly chant “We Want Wyatt” during a segment between Goldberg and his SummerSlam opponent Bobby Lashley. This seemingly indicating that fans would instead prefer to be watching the recently released Bray Wyatt than Goldberg. This would prompt an annoyed Ronda Rousey to take to Twitter and call those fans ungrateful idiots and blaming them for his release in the first place. Apparently, though fans in Orlando at the Amway Center didn’t take note, as during Alexa Bliss’ match against Doudrop would also receive these chants.

Bliss has received a lot of backlash for Wyatt being let go despite her not being responsible for WWE’s decision. Some fans claim she stole Wyatt’s gimmick, which clearly isn’t the case. This resulted in her making her Twitter account private. Bliss and Wyatt became aligned in 2020, and she would become a much darker character using his finisher, Sister Abigail. After Randy Orton set alight Wyatt’s alter ego, The Fiend in a Firefly Inferno, he would disappear for three months, and Bliss would continue the program with Orton. The pair would even met in an intergender match, with The Fiend returning from a three-month hiatus to help her win.

The last time Wyatt and Bliss were together was WrestleMania 37 when she would appear in the Jack-in-the-box that The Fiend had entered in, distracting her mentor long enough for Orton to hit an RKO and score the victory. The Fiend and Bliss would have a staredown, and then the lights went out, and both were gone. It wasn’t well-received at the time but appeared to be setting up an angle between the pair. However, that wouldn’t happen, and in Wyatt’s absence, Bliss has continued with her sinister character along with a demonic doll from her childhood named Lilly.

Former WWE wrestler Chelsea Green filed a trademark application for “Chelsea Green,” which is both her ring name and birth name on the same day WWE released her. WWE had previously attempted to take ownership, but it had been delayed due to not having obtained her signed consent at the time. With her no longer being employed with WWE, it was assumed they would either give up their application or at least just let it expire, and Green would eventually take ownership.

However, just last week, the promotion submitted the signed consent from Green, dated November 2020, a full six months before being released. This meant that once WWE was officially awarded ownership of her name, she would no longer be able to use her own name in wrestling. Following the news breaking, Green took to Twitter and promised to discuss the situation on her podcast. This likely caught WWE’s attention, as she would subsequently tweet that WWE called her on Sunday night to inform her they were withdrawing their application.

You’re probably wondering why I didn’t talk about the legal issues with my name being trademarked?? Well, at 9pm last night I received a call saying they were withdrawing the trademark & the name is MINE!!

Chelsea Green

This situation was likely caused by someone in WWE’s legal department not keeping up with WWE’s multiple releases, which is understandable considering how frequently they have been occurring. It did appear odd for WWE to do as it was believed she was still on good terms with them as they allowed her out of her non-compete early to debut for Ring of Honor.

Michael Elgin, who is best known to wrestling fans for his matches in Ring of Honor, and New Japan, took to Twitter last year, revealing he was addicted to painkillers. He’d announce though he has decided to tackle this issue head-on and was going to rehab. It had been hoped he would be able to turn his life around, however on June 29th, he was arrested and charged for violating a protective order filed by his ex-fiancé, which she was granted after claiming he had been abusing her.

Disturbingly this past weekend, it appeared things had gotten too much for Elgin, and he was considering taking his own life. The reason for assuming this was a distressing 27-minute video he uploaded to YouTube titled “Last post. Thank you for those who’ve been apart of these chapters.” In this, he would thank fans, state it was the final time they would hear from him, and said goodbye. He would then follow up in the comments talking about his son and ex-wife, fellow wrestler MsChif.

Understandably, friends and fans were worried, with those who tried to contact him discovering his phone was turned off and fearing the worst. Thankfully, though, Impact Wrestling referee Daniel Spencer would later tweet the news that Elgin was safe. Hopefully, this also means Elgin is now in touch with professionals who can help him at this time.

Update: Michael Elgin’s close personal friend found him to be Safe & Sound!

Daniel Spencer

Elgin is a 20-year veteran despite only being 34 years of age and has won multiple championships worldwide. The last major promotion he worked for was Impact Wrestling, but after being named in the #SpeakingOut movement, he was fired on June 26th, 2020. Since then, he has only wrestled twice on indie shows as his life appears to have been spiraling out of control from the outside.

Matt Cardona, then going by the Zack Ryder, got himself over with WWE fans despite receiving very little television time thanks to his YouTube show True Long Island Story. Fans would chant “We Want Ryder” at shows, his merchandise would sell out, and he, therefore, proclaimed himself the Internet Champion. The speculation was that WWE management was actually annoyed with Cardona getting himself over without their involvement, and that’s why he never received a sustained push.

Now while appearing as a guest on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Cardona would reveal that at the time, Triple H told him that he was a mark for himself and that 10 years prior, the locker room would have kicked his ass. Cardona says he replied by saying, “well, the locker room loves me,” prompting Triple H to claim that is why attendances were down.

Cardona’s time with WWE was very peculiar, with management seemingly going out of their way to devalue him as an asset. For years fans would call for Cardona to quit the promotion, but likely due to having grown up as a fan of the promotion and living his dream, plus regularly receiving a decent paycheck, he continued to make the best of what he was given.

WWE would eventually release him in April 2020, forcing him to look for other employment possibilities. Since then, he has appeared briefly for AEW and is now an Impact Wrestling regular. Additionally, his recent foray into the world of deathmatch wrestling with Game Changer Wrestler has seen him become one of the most talked-about wrestlers online, again giving him a legitimate claim as the Internet Champion.
