At the conclusion of Rampage, which was pretaped on Wednesday, the Dark Order and Best Friends all gave Brodie Lee Jr. a big hug, and he would sit on Orange Cassidy’s shoulders. However, he wasn’t at home to watch it air, as he was busy at 2CW’s show in Syracuse, New York. Going by the name of Negative 1, he would make a surprise appearance during the show’s main event, which featured Evil Uno and Stu Grayson of the Dark Order against Cloudy and Nick Ando.

While Uno, Grayson, and the referee were all down, Cloudy would bring a chair into the ring. Although before he had an opportunity to use it, the lights would go out, and when they came back on, Negative 1 was in the ring. First, he would hit Cloudy with a low blow, and then with Uno’s assistance, he superkicked a chair into his head. Negative 1 would then help revive the referee who counted the pin after Uno and Grayson hit their finisher. As the trio celebrated in the ring, the crowd would loudly chant, “Brodie.”

Lee Jr. has previously said there is zero chance he will ever be anything other than a pro wrestler when he grows up. Thanks to Tony Khan, he has a full-time contract with AEW waiting for him once he turns 18, and while that is still a decade away, it appears he will have more experience than many of his colleagues at the time.

There is still an outstanding issue on the ownership of the name “Keith Lee.” Both WWE and Lee himself have applied to the United States Patent and Trademark Office to trademark it. While WWE’s attempt has been held up because Lee did not provide written consent, Lee’s own application did not provide the correct evidence confirming the name was used previously as a service mark to identify a service.

With both applications currently in limbo, WWE has now applied to trademark Lee’s new nickname “Bearcat,” which he used when wrestling in dark matches. However, the application was filed on September 28, the day after Lee was introduced as Keith “Bearcat” Lee on television, thus creating the evidence required. While Lee has not spoken publicly about the nickname, the belief is the name “Bearcat” is in reference to Edward Wright, who wrestled in the 50s, 60s, and 70s as Bearcat Wright.

Wright holds the distinction of being the first-ever black World Champion after defeating Freddie Blassie by count-out in 1963. The title he won was the WWA World Heavyweight Championship based out of Los Angles, and Wright would refuse to lose the belt when the time came. With a reputation of going into business for himself, judo champion Gene LeBell was brought in to get the belt off him by any means necessary. Bearcat would subsequently refuse to compete, resulting in him being stripped of the championship. Despite a poor backstage reputation, he would still get plenty of bookings due to his drawing ability and was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a part of the Legacy wing in 2017.

Almost a year ago, Nikki Bella’s fiancé, Artem Chigvintsev, revealed that both of the sisters were talking to WWE about wrestling again. Since then, their fans have been eagerly awaiting an update on when they would return to the ring. Sadly though, for Nikki, it seems that will be some time away, and possibly never happening because speaking on Ariane Andrew’s Sippin’ The Tea she revealed it isn’t straightforward for her to get medically cleared.

I have to listen to the doctors, and as of now, they’ve put me on the retired bench for life. So, it would take a lot of scans, x-rays, and all this different stuff for them to actually approve me to have a run, and so that would be unlikely. That will be years down the road.

Nikki Bella

During the same interview, Brie Bella would also discuss the possibility of her wrestling again. She’d say she is in a different place in life right now and can’t imagine taking bumps. So while not totally ruling out a return herself, it does sound unlikely.

We’re gonna always have a love for professional wrestling. It was a huge part of our lives, and it was such a great time traveling the world and getting the ring, but for me, I just feel like I’m in such a different place in my life and a place I really love. We’re gonna be 38 in November, and I’m like, you know too, for us to be winemakers, and I can’t imagine taking a bump right now.

Brie Bella

In March 2019, the sisters announced on their E! reality show Total Bellas that they had retired from pro wrestling. Brie would share the news on the March 10 episode, while Nikki announced on the March 24 season finale. Unfortunately, this meant their careers had ended without much fanfare following matches in 2018, twelve years after they’d initially trying out for WWE Diva Search. However, the duo would go on to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame earlier this year, with the company recognizing their contribution to the product and help in bringing in more female fans through reality television.

Four months ago, then United States Champion Sheamus suffered a broken nose when Humberto Carrillo’s forearm struck him. It was clear Sheamus was hurt due to the amount of blood coming from his nose, but he still finished the match, putting over his opponent via rollup. Subsequently, he would undergo surgery and since has been wrestling in a protective mask, but it would break again in a match against Jeff Hardy when it came off.

Now with Sheamus seemingly having blown off his feud with Damian Priest at this past Monday’s episode of Raw, he has revealed on social media he has undergone a second surgery. Unfortunately, it isn’t known how long the Irishman will now miss. Still, considering that rushing back last time likely led to the need for the second surgery, it’s probably wise that he takes some time off to fully recover. Under these circumstances, the standard recovery time is 1-2 months, so he could possibly be back in time to wrestle at the Survivor Series, which takes place on Sunday, 21 November.

Mick Foley effectively retired as a wrestler in October 2010 while working for TNA. He would later team with Terry Funk for a short tag match on a JCW show in 2011 and make a surprise Royal Rumble appearance in 2012, but he has avoided wrestling since then. However, the 56-year-old has now given hope to fans that he may wrestle again. The revelation would come during one of his Nice Day Tour shows when a fan would ask him about having one more match. Rather than saying no as expected, he would reveal he would be open to wrestling again as long as it could be a cinematic match.

While Matt Hardy helped bring cinematic matches to prominence, they became an accepted part of wrestling once WWE featured two of them at WrestleMania 36. The Boneyard Match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles actually headlined the first night of the event and was so well-received that The Undertaker decided to retire knowing he couldn’t top his performance in a regular match. The concept would also be used for Sting’s first match in AEW and proved he could still compete at a high enough standard.

While Foley’s violent and self-destructive wrestling style has led to multiple issues for him in later life, a cinematic match would allow for his limitations to be covered. With numerous takes, camera cuts, and even crash pads possibly used if needed. Where the match would occur, though, could be an issue, as Foley is not popular with WWE management right now due to uploading a video to YouTube and social media criticizing them. In the video, he would question how they book new talent and even say that he isn’t sure he’d trust them with his career if he were an aspiring talent today.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Alexa Bliss was set to take a break from WWE. At the time, it wasn’t known if there was any specific reason or if she had anything planned. Now though, PWInsider has reported that she is to undergo sinus surgery. Sinus surgery is done to open the pathways between the sinuses and the inside of the nose and is typically done to reduce recurrent sinus infections or fix an abnormal sinus structure. Most people can return to work in a few weeks, however, most people don’t take bumps for a living.

Bliss was written off WWE television this past weekend at Extreme Rules after not only losing to Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair but also having her doll Lilly destroyed. While Bliss would manage to get back to her feet, she would be left distraught and screaming as she held the remains of Lilly, as a somewhat humorous “thank you, Lilly” chant commenced. With Bliss’ sinister doll having been destroyed, there has been speculation that when Bliss does return, she may be without her demonic gimmick adopted from Bray Wyatt.

Sammy Guevara defeated Miro to become the new TNT Champion on this week’s Dynamite, and it was stated Guevara would comment during a commercial break on the upcoming Rhodes To The Top premiere. During the interview, Guevara would firstly tell Tony Schiavone that Brodie Lee will always be the greatest TNT Champion. Still, he said wanted to do his best to fill the shoes left behind. He then acknowledged a tweet from former NXT wrestler Bobby Fish who wanted to walk through the forbidden door and wrestle him for the championship. Guevara would accept his challenge making the match official. Subsequently, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky, along with Dan Lambert, would interrupt, seemingly setting themselves up as future challengers.

Fish had been with WWE since the brand’s June 23rd, 2017 television tapings, with it announced he had signed a full-time contract on July 17th. The following month, he and Kyle O’Reilly would align with Adam Cole becoming known as The Undisputed Era and twice held the NXT Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately for him, due to budgetary cuts, he would be released by the company on August 6th, 2021. However, being an NXT talent, he had the typical 30-day non-compete clause that allowed him to return to the indie circuit earlier this month. He has since been announced with MLW and is booked on their October 2nd, 2021, Fightland show as Lee Moriarty’s first-round opponent in the Opera Cup.

Lio Rush announced his intention to retire less than two weeks after making his AEW debut as the Joker in the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing in May. However, he has still been fulfilling his commitments to New Japan on their NJPW Strong brand. It would later come out that Rush has stayed in contact with Tony Khan, and last night the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion appeared on Dynamite in a video vignette.

In the video you can watch below, he would explain he is now a businessman involved in leveraged buyouts, saying he could be called LBO Lio. He would then go on to describing the process, seemingly setting up his new gimmick. Subsequently, AEW would announce on social media he had officially signed.

26-year-old Rush was released by WWE as part of the companies mass cuts in April 2020. He did contemplate quitting the business previously to focus on music and went as far as to wrestle a retirement match against Joey Janela. However, he returned a few months later. Since then, he has competed for MLW, New Japan, and even wrestled as a Spider-Man-inspired character called Aracno at AAA TripleMania XXVIII. Additionally, he appeared on MTV reality show The Challenge but quit the show citing mental health reasons.

Former WWE wrestler Santana Garrett wrestled Diamante at an AEW Dark taping at the YouTube shows new Universal Studios base earlier this month. It was her first match since entering at number 12 during the women’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year, as she was part of WWE’s mass talent cuts. Now she has spoken to Lucha Libre Online and revealed she is talking to multiple companies and keeping her options open about her future home.

I’m keeping my options open. I’m talking to a few different companies. I’m not opposed to going somewhere I’ve already been. I feel like I’ve kept relationships up over the years with a lot of these promoters that I’ve worked for. I’ve never left a company with ill will. Right now, I’m just keeping my options open. I have a few things coming up. Stay tuned, people.

Santana Garrett

Over the years, Garrett has wrestled for countless independent promotions in addition to World Wonder Ring Stardom and Impact Wrestling. Unfortunately for her, she has developed a reputation as an enhancement talent due to very rarely winning on television. However, she does still have time to turn that around. AEW would likely be her first choice, but they usually require independent wrestlers to get over and impress management on Dark before they are offered a full-time deal.

It has been reported by PWInsider.com that former WWE wrestler Ryan Sakoda has sadly passed away. He was aged just 48 and had and had been working for Disney at their Grand California Hotel. The cause of death is unknown, and according to his official obituary, he tragically died on September 2. He is survived by his parents Ronney and Colleen, and brothers Kelley and Brett.

Sakoda’s wrestling career began on the Californian indie circuit, and in his early days, he would share a ring with names such as Frankie Kazarian, Mike Knox, and John Cena, who was going by the name Prototype at the time. His first match for WWE came on Jakked when he teamed with Kazarian to put over Funaki & Taka Michinoku. Two years on, he would return to the promotion and appear on Velocity wrestling Chuck Palumbo and Kanyon. These appearances earned him a WWE deal, and he soon became part of SmackDown as one of Tajiri henchmen in 2003. During this time, he formed a team with Akio, who later became Jimmy Wang Yang.

Unfortunately for him, by mid-2004, he was deemed surplus to requirements and was let go by the company. Despite this, he would continue to wrestle on the indies as well as Japan before becoming part of MTV’s Wrestling Society X. However, he would decide to retire in 2007, later claiming he had suffered brain injuries while wrestling for WWE and became part of a failed civil lawsuit against the company.

Alexa Bliss challenged Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules, with many fans were anticipating a title change due to Bliss being in her hometown. However, Bliss would not only lose but was also left laying, with her doll Lilly destroyed at the hands of Flair. While Bliss would manage to get back to her feet, she would be scream as she held the remains of Lilly, and the fans gave a “thank you, Lilly” chant.

The match’s aftermath certainly appeared like a way to write off Bliss’ demonic character, and Wrestling Inc has now reported that Bliss is set to take a break from the company. Exactly how long she will be gone hasn’t been confirmed, but it is anticipated to be months rather than weeks. Additionally, with Lilly being destroyed, there is bound to be speculation on whether Bliss returns with her current sinister gimmick adopted from Bray Wyatt or returns as a more serious competitor.

What Bliss intends to do with her time away from WWE isn’t known. Although after getting engaged last year to musician Ryan Cabrera she may use the time off to plan their wedding. In the past, getting time off from WWE was an arduous task, although in recent years, management’s status has mellowed, and it’s not unusual for talent to take a break to recharge and allow injuries to heal.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Bray Wyatt, with both All Elite Wrestling and Impact Wrestling being regarded as possible destinations. To keep his name out there, Wyatt has been teasing fans from time to time with cryptic tweets, and during Extreme Rules, he would do this again. This time he would share a picture of himself along with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan across the ring from The Uso’s and Daniel Bryan.

The photo appears to have been taken at a houseshow that took place in December 2013 when the six men were wrestling cage matches together. The significance of the image isn’t known, and fans are speculating that Wyatt could be set to reunite with fellow free agent Rowan to possibly go against Bryan, who is now with AEW.

Wyatt was shockingly released by WWE on July 31, just over a week before he was meant to return to Raw. The claimed reason he was let go was budgetary. Still, some people in the know have called that into question claiming he had creative disagreements with Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn. Regardless of the actual reason, Wyatt needs to start over as he cannot use The Fiend gimmick he created anymore because it is WWE’s intellectual property.

Due to having a 90-day non-compete clause, Wyatt cannot sign elsewhere until October 29. However, there have been suggestions that he may debut for another promotion as soon as this week with it rumored, WWE may have let him out of the clause early as they did with Chelsea Green.
