After departing Impact Wrestling, where he had his heart ripped out by his alter-ego, The Karate Man, Ethan Page would join AEW debuting at Revolution 2021. Since then, he has formed a successful partnership with Scorpio Sky as The Men of the Year and looks set to be a star for years to come. Clearly recognizing this, Fightful Select has reported that AEW used their option to extend Page’s contract last year. However, how this was for wasn’t confirmed.
Ethan Page has extended his contract with All Elite Wrestling, Fightful Select has learned. Page had only signed with the company in early 2021, and we’re told that a deal to extend his contract was actually reached later that year.
Fightful SelectWhile it may be unrelated as to why AEW opted to extend his deal, it has since been reported by Andrew Zarian on his Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast that WWE is keeping tabs on Page. With the WWE insider saying, “I know for a fact that there are eyes on him for sure because he’s a guy who is a good looking guy who can cut a great promo.” It should, though, be noted Page had previously stated that when he left Impact Wrestling, AEW was always his preferred destination due to them allowing talents freedom to work on outside projects. So unless any future offer from WWE was for big money, it seems doubtful he’d look to leave AEW, especially considering there is so little job security.
The Undertaker is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 1st alongside Vader and Sharmell. Due to this, he is currently partaking in interviews to promote the event, and recently, he would speak to the Dallas Morning News about the ceremony. Of the various topics covered, one of the most interesting was who he believes also deserves to receive the honor that hasn’t already, and admitting it was a “super political,” said his wife, Michelle McCool.
This is going to sound super political, but I believe my wife should be in. She was one working in an era where the women didn’t get nearly the opportunities that they do now. She fought so hard for the women to get more of a spotlight put on them.
She was actually reprimanded once for having too good of a match with Melina; that’s a true story. But for her work ethic and what she did in the time period where they weren’t given a lot of opportunities, I think she deserves a nod.
The UndertakerWhile McCool is easy to dismiss because she is married to The Undertaker, the 42-year-old was a two-time WWE Women’s Championship and two-time WWE Divas Championship. Plus, she won the company’s Diva of the Year Slammy Award in 2010 and was also Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Woman of the Year that same year.
When you also consider that Torrie Wilson, Jacqueline, Beth Phoenix, Molly Holly, and Ivory are all the WWE Hall of Fame, and she was arguably as big a star of any of them, it is understandable why The Undertaker considers her worthy. Whether Vince McMahon does, though, is all that matters. Still, given his relationship with The Undertaker, it wouldn’t be surprising to see McCool announced in the next few years.
Thunder Rosa defeated Britt Baker on last week’s Dynamite in a brutal and bloody cage match which was likely here career highlight. She would also have a memorable entrance with a Mariachi band playing her to the ring, and during a recent interview on NBC Sports Boston’s Ten Count, she would discuss this, saying she did this to honor and respect her culture. However, she would bring up being bothered by a WWE segment from 2004 which featured Brock Lesnar using a Mariachi band to mock Eddie Guerrero.
I can tell you, I read about me bringing the Mariachi, and I remember Brock Lesnar making fun of Eddie Guerrero with that. And that hurts because they were making fun of my culture before. And on Wednesday, I represented our culture properly, with honor and with respect. Because people were, “oh, Mariachi, fun. Like, let’s make fun of Mexicans.”
Lesnar was highly praised at the time by fans following the famous segment as it was the most personality he’d shown since debuting. And while it is problematic, especially by today’s standards, WWE likely felt it was OK as Guerrero would end up victorious. Nevertheless, it is now great that a Mariachi band has been used positively on an American wrestling show thanks to Rosa and AEW.
Bobby Lashley went into Elimination Chamber as WWE Champion but lost the title without wrestling. While he would enter the chamber, he’d suffered a storyline concussion when Austin Theory was put through his pod, and Lashley supposedly bumped his head. Initially, it was believed it was done to protect Lashley, who is one of the few wrestlers booked strongly by the company. Yet, it was later revealed he was injured during his match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal and needed surgery.
Initially, it was believed Lashley would be out of action for up to four months and miss WrestleMania. However, Fightful Select has now reported WWE is hoping he is able to compete at WrestleMania, which takes place on April 2nd and 3rd, with Omos penciled in to be his opponent. Precisely how likely this match is to occur isn’t known, but as of Fightful’s initial report, WWE was said to be hopeful.
It seems unorthodox for WWE to put on a match as big as this with little to no build. Still, there are few people on the roster who are capable of having a competitive match with Lashley who aren’t already working with someone else. While always protected, in recent weeks, Omos has been strongly pushed and defeated T-Bar, Apollo Crews, and Commander Azeez in virtual squash matches. Therefore it will be fascinating to see how WWE books the match if it happens, with Lashley being the current bigger star, but Omos being much younger and having the potential to be a long-term main eventer in the future.
The Undertaker appeared on The True Geordie Podcast earlier this week, saying that with a few exceptions like Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and Randy Orton, today’s wrestlers came up in the era of comic books and superheroes. Suggesting they aren’t tough and didn’t have to struggle to get to where they are today. Obviously, this ruffled feathers on social media among fans, but it seemed unlikely any wrestlers would comment.
However, seemingly knowing his chances of ever working for WWE are limited, Joey Janela would take aim at the Ther Undertaker. With the soon-to-be-former AEW talent referring to him by his real name and pretending to agree with him in a mocking tweet.
I 100% agree Mark! Lots of lame marvel geek talk in these locker rooms! If I ever open up a wrestling school before you have your first match you’re gonna have to get in at least 2 bar fights with PROOF! By the way the avengers movies suck
Joey JanelaIn the past, The Undertaker would keep his opinions to himself to protect his character, but since retiring has been much more outspoken. This has resulted in many calling his views outdated since he is from a former generation. Nevertheless, considering he is one of the most successful wrestlers in history, he is entitled to his opinion even if it isn’t popular with indie workers like Janela.
Last year The Undertaker was a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast and covered numerous topics, including WWE’s drug testing policy and his own prior steroid usage. He also gave his opinion on the current state of WWE and referred to the product as “soft” and “there’s too much pretty and not enough substance right now.” It’s understood this comment upset several current talents, and then WWE Champion Drew McIntyre would respond in an interview, saying he disputes this and that in the ring, WWE’s never been so physical.
Now, during an interview with the True Geordie Podcast, The Undertaker has doubled down on his previous comments, saying that with a few exceptions like Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and Randy Orton, the current crop of talents came up in the era of comic books and superheroes. Suggesting they aren’t tough and didn’t have to struggle to get to where they are today.
I feel like there is a level of grit that is missing from today’s product. I don’t know that it’s anybody’s fault, we all aged out, and that new group has come up. When you watch Brock wrestle, you’re interested because you know he’s got this background not only as an amateur wrestler, professional wrestler, mixed martial artist. Brock doesn’t do a bunch of crazy moves, Brock manhandles your ass. You get in there, and you get thrown around, and you get smashed.
You know, and Roman has a little bit of that to him, and when he wants to, Randy has that to him when he wants to, but a lot of the younger talent, it’s that, the evolution of that comic book era, the superhero era, and I think that’s their motivation, and that’s what their inspiration is, and they didn’t have to come up and bust heads in bars and figure out how they were gonna eat and things like that.
The UndertakerWhile many fans do harken back to the old days of pro wrestling, others will say the changes have been for the better. With a current day wrestler being much more likely to be spending their off time playing video games rather than getting into bar fights. Of course, The Undertaker is entitled to his opinion and earned that right during the infamous days when wrestlers would spend 300 days on the road. However, he will still likely receive further backlash for these new comments.
Seven months ago, WWE secured the signature of Gable Steveson, who had won the gold medal in the Men’s Freestyle 125 kilograms at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. In what was a surprising deal, WWE agreed to allow Steveson to continue his amateur wrestling career while training for pro wrestling and even announced him as being drafted to Raw.
Now, with him winning the NCAA Championship this past weekend and announcing his retirement from the sport, he is set to focus on WWE. However, it appears fans will not have long to wait before seeing Steveson competent in a WWE ring as he has revealed he will be at WrestleMania in a now-deleted tweet.

Of course, Steveson could have simply meant that he would be in attendance to watch or be backstage. Still, it seems odd that he would delete the tweet if that was the case, and potentially WWE is now looking to introduce the athlete into a storyline. Given his history, there will certainly be comparisons between him and Kurt Angle, who is arguably the most successful Olympian who transitioned into professional wrestling, and if Steveson can have half the pro wrestling career Angle did, he will be a resounding success.
Over the weekend, Toni Storm opened an OnlyFans account and based on her $19.99 a month subscription price and subscribers count, and it’s believed she made $10,000 in the first hour. That alone is likely to result in other former WWE talents seriously considering creating an account, and this topic would come up during an interview with former WWE commentator Renee Paquette on The MackMania podcast. However, she would disappoint fans of spicy content that she has no intention of joining, saying she doesn’t think people need to see that side of her personality.
I don’t feel like my personality necessarily gels with that, like, I don’t know. I think for the people that it works for, hell yeah. Get out there, make that money. Do the thing that makes you happy, by all means. I just think if all of a sudden, I signed up for OnlyFans, people would be like, “no, I think I’m good.” I don’t think I want you to see that. I don’t think that people need that sexier side of me.
Also, it’s like, I don’t know. There’s like a goofiness to me. Me doing, like, a legit sexy photo, I’m like sweating right now thinking about it. No one needs it.
Renee PaquettePaquette departed WWE following SummerSlam in 2020 due to feeling like she accomplished everything in the company she could. Nevertheless, she would have a one-year non-compete, meaning she couldn’t join her husband in AEW if she wanted to stay in the wrestling business. However, any plans of that would be delayed upon the announcement she was pregnant, with her giving birth to a daughter named Nora in June 2021. Paquette has though continued her career in media and currently hosts two successful podcasts.
Last Wednesday, AEW held their St. Patrick’s Day Slam-themed episode of Dynamite, which was headlined by a steel cage match between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s Championship. Rosa would end up victorious in just over 17 minutes, and some have described the contest as a must-see due to the blood, thumbtacks, and hard-hitting action.
However, many have been critical, saying the blood was excessive and the selling wasn’t consistent. Now in response to that criticism, Rosa has stated during an interview that the issue is with fans who are programmed a certain way. Seemingly saying the complaints originate from fans used to WWE’s style of wrestling.
It’s like people are programmed a certain way, and they have been programmed for professional wrestling for decades a certain way because of how things have been handled before.
Thunder RosaSeemingly the match will go down as one of the most mixed reviewed ever, with almost as many people rating the match 0 as did 10 on Cagematch.net. Ultimately how you feel about excessive blood will dictate how you rank the match. However, regardless of your opinion of the match, how hard both women worked is undeniable, and it will undoubtedly live long in the memories of those who witnessed it.
It was reported last week that Cody Rhodes has signed with WWE, and while it isn’t known if he will appear on their television before WrestleMania, he is expected to wrestle at the event. So far, Cody hasn’t said anything publicly about his upcoming return. However, his sister Teil has seemingly done so by sharing a photo of her brother standing alongside their legendary father Dusty and expressing how proud he would be if he could see what was next for her brother.
Cody’s love for his father is very well-known, and it’s believed his primary goal is to honor his father and add to the Rhodes family legacy. While he has already done so much towards that, it appears he feels a main event run in WWE is required to ultimately achieve this. Whether he does this remains to be seen, but it’s known he spoke to WWE before leaving AEW, and it seems unlikely he’d give up such a prominent position without assurances from Vince McMahon.
Six months ago, Alexa Bliss was written off WWE television to undergo sinus surgery. When she returned four months later, she’d begin having on-air therapy sessions to seemingly rid her of under her demonic and sinister character, which she adopted when aligned with Bray Wyatt and The Fiend. While some fans have been critical of this, Bliss would tell fans to be patient and let things play out.
However, after wrestling at Elimination Chamber in February, she has again been absent from television, with fans again wondering what WWE’s plan is for her. Now, after sharing her travel delay issues with fans relating to her getting to this week’s Raw, one fan would make light of the situation by saying all she’ll be doing is waiting in catering anyway.
Bliss seemingly found the comment funny as she wouldn’t have likely quoted tweeted it if she didn’t. Yet it does ring true, and she may be frustrated with the lack of television time, especially given how close it is to WrestleMania. Of course, there is still time to add her to the show in a meaningful match, but if that is WWE’s plan, she’ll need to appear sooner rather than later.
Last week Torrie Wilson took park in a virtual autograph signing for The Asylum Wrestling Store, where for $60, fans could get items signed and chat to the former WWE Diva. While these aren’t usually particularly newsworthy, Wilson would divulge to one fan that ahead of her WWE Hall of Fame speech, she was told she couldn’t mention Sable, who she’d appeared in Playboy with back in March 2003. While she wouldn’t go into further detail, it is interesting that as recent as 2019, WWE didn’t want her referenced.
You’re not even allowed to mention her name. I mentioned her name in my Hall of Fame speech, and right before, they told me, “Oh, by the way, you’re not allowed to mention her name.”
Torrie WilsonObviously, it is just speculation, but given that Sable’s husband, Brock Lesnar, is one of WWE’s top stars, it’s doubtful they would choose not to recognize her. Therefore potentially, Sable doesn’t want to be spoken about, and given Lesnar’s position, WWE certainly wouldn’t force the issue. It should be noted Sable did previously sue WWE in 1999 due to allegations of harassment over not wanting to go topless and unsafe working conditions. However, she did return in 2003 and worked alongside Vince McMahon before leaving the company on good terms a year later.
