Earlier this month, it was reported that Miro had signed a four-year contract extension keeping him with AEW until 2026. Nevertheless, he has been absent from television for some time, last wrestling in November 2021, and while he did have a hamstring injury last year, it wasn’t thought injuries were behind his absence. Now, in a new update by Fightful Select, his absence has been explained, with them reporting that the former WWE star has been in New York filming a television pilot for CBS.
We’re told that this week Miro is in New York working on a television product for a CBS pilot show. In addition, Miro has done some more film work during his time off from the ring. We’ve also learned the former Lana, CJ Perry, has multiple upcoming television projects. Thus far creative hasn’t been indicated for a return.
The start of Miro’s AEW run wasn’t the best due to him being aligned with Kip Sabian and having a gamer gimmick. However, everyone involved seemingly realized this wasn’t working, and Miro would evolve into “The Redeemer” and “God’s Favorite Champion,” becoming one of the best characters and performers in the promotion. While he is missed on television, presumably, AEW believes him breaking into acting could be beneficial for their mainstream ambitions. And with him signed long-term, there is no harm in him missing a relatively short period.
Despite not being a regular onscreen character, Vince McMahon remains one of WWE’s biggest stars, and now the company is looking to cash in on its larger-than-life owner. They’ve done this by releasing three not safe for work t-shirts through WWE Shop, which plays into his reputation as a ruthless businessman who doesn’t care what others think of him. However, given the offensive language featured, they may not be popular with even his biggest supporters.
Vince McMahon is one of the most polarizing figures in pro wrestling history, and while some consider him the genius inventor of sports entertainment, others see him as the devil. So whether these shirts will be a big seller remains to be seen. Nevertheless, considering how little merchandise has been created for the Mr. McMahon character over the years, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these eventually become collector’s items.
On Monday’s Raw, there was an angle where Becky Lynch tried to cut Bianca Belair’s braid off with a pair of scissors in retaliation for her previously using it as a weapon on her. However, things wouldn’t work out for the Raw Women’s Champion, and it was her who received a hair. Now though, Lynch has shared photos of her brand new cut, which shows a fresh dye job as well. Whether it was Lynch’s idea or WWE’s idea for her to do the angle is unknown. Still, a change of look can be very beneficial financially for all involved as The Man will now need new merchandise.
Becky Lynch returned to WWE at SummerSlam, having been on maternity leave for the prior 15 months, and would defeat Belair for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship in a controversial match. This was because Lynch won in less than 30 seconds, with many fans saying Belair had been made to look weak. However, it did kick off a heel turn for Lynch and a program between the pair. And while it did appear their feud was cooling, it was reignited once Belair won a #1 Contendership Elimination Chamber match at Elimination Chamber.
On this week’s episode of Dynamite, The Bunny was set to face a mystery opponent in a qualifying match for the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. The name most fans suspected was former SmackDown wrestler Toni Storm, as her WWE non-compete had recently expired, and this was correct. Storm would win the surprisingly competitive match and is now set to continue in the tournament set up to honor the much-loved and missed Canadian wrestler.
Afterward, AEW would announce Storm had signed with the company on social media, making her the latest ex-WWE talent to become All Elite. For those unaware, Storm walked out on WWE in December after choosing to fly home rather than fulfill her next booking due to burnout. Subsequently, she would be fired and had exited the spotlight.
However, a few weeks ago, she made headlines after opening an account on an adult content website, reportedly earning $10,000 in the first two hours with fans clamoring to subscribe. Despite this substantial money-making opportunity, she is still clearly a full-time wrestler and has the potential to be a massive star in AEW.
During a recent interview, Joey Janela revealed he wasn’t signing a contract extension with AEW. Although he would make it seem like it was his decision, many have doubted this. Now in similar news, Fightful Select has reported that fellow AEW original Marko Stunt has been informed he will also be departing the company. Apparently, he was told of this by Christopher Daniels, who works for AEW in a talent relations role, who said it was down to the budget and roster size.
Stunt debuted for AEW at their inaugural Double or Nothing event as part of the Casino Battle Royal. Shortly afterward, he’d sign with the company and went on to form the Jurassic Express with Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus, creating a popular act. However, it was previously claimed that Stunt wasn’t being included in any future merchandise plans for the Jurassic Express, and with Stunt seemingly being replaced by Christian Cage on television, the writing was on the wall.
Stunt’s last match for AEW came all the way back in September 2021, with a concussion playing a part in his initial absence. Currently, what’s next for Stunt isn’t known, but he built up a fanbase on the indies, which remains today, and seeing as he wrestled for GCW in February, he may be working for them more frequently from now on.
Following a heavily criticized men’s Royal Rumble match that Shane McMahon produced, news broke that he had effectively been let go by the company. This surprised everyone, as while there have been known issues in the McMahon family in the past, nobody ever seriously thought Vince would ever effectively fire his son. However, it’s now been reported by PWInsider that Shane is scheduled to be in Dallas this weekend for WrestleMania, although it is not known if there are plans for him to appear on camera.
WWE is bringing Shane McMahon in for Wrestlemania 38 this weekend, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources. There is no word at this time whether McMahon will be appearing on the PPV yet but we are told he will be in town for the entire Wrestlemania weekend.
PWInsider.comWith Vince McMahon handpicking an opponent for Seth Rollins, speculation has subsequently commenced that Shane could be that person. Especially since it’s known Shane was at one point set to wrestle Rollins or Bobby Lashley on the show. Although with Cody Rhodes having signed with the company, it is still believed he will be the one to face Rollins. Nevertheless, Shane’s attendance does now cast doubt on that, which may be precisely what WWE wants.
On Monday night Kimber Lee posted a series of now-deleted tweets accusing her husband and fellow wrestler Nash Carter of abuse. She wouldn’t provide specific details but would seemingly state that he had 24 hours to divulge the details himself, or she would. Now though, Lee has taken to Twitter, and after revealing, she is being harassed over the phone, has stated she’s taking some time for herself. However, she did tell fans she is doing OK.
As of writing, Carter hasn’t commented on the allegations, and if he appears during this week’s episode of NXT, it could signify WWE is standing by him. In the past, when talents have been accused of offenses, the company has stood by them while investigating. Nevertheless, Carter is booked to wrestle in a featured match at NXT Stand & Deliver for the NXT Tag Team Championships, and if proof later comes out, he was abusive, it would look bad on the company.
In 2021 it became public knowledge that Paul Heyman’s WWE contract was set to expire later that year. However, since then, there hasn’t been any further news. However, considering he is involved in the program between Romain Reigns and Brock Lesnar, it’s obvious he re-signed. Now, though, during an interview on Sports Media with Richard Deitsch, the former ECW head honcho would go on record confirming this and revealed it is a multi-year deal.
This much, I will say, I re-signed with WWE last year. It was a long-term agreement. They created a situation where I would have been a fool not to take them up on their offer. I’m locked in for a while. This has been the case for a long time for me because I do outside projects because I like to multi-task and I’m very ADD, and I can’t concentrate on one thing ever in my life.
I have carve-outs to allow me to do other projects, which is also to WWE’s benefit because I’m locked into WWE as well. I’m always gonna be, “That WWE guy is doing this outside project.” I would never do anything that would betray my deal with WWE because they went out of their way to ensure I was here, I’m happy, I’m locked in, and we’re mutually satisfied with each other’s contributions.
Paul HeymanIt was always difficult to imagine WWE letting Heyman leave as he is too valuable in his role with Reigns, and seemingly recognizing this, WWE has compensated him well to remain. Additionally, while some fans may think AEW signing Heyman in a creative role would be a masterstroke, the belief is Tony Khan is happy with his current creative process. Therefore, if Heyman wants to remain in the wrestling industry earning big money, WWE is his best option.
Almost a year ago, Patrick Clark Jr, better known as Velveteen Dream, was released by WWE. This was despite the alarming allegations against him regarding minors never being proven. Now, though, the former NXT talent has posted an Instagram Story expressing his desire to return to the company despite the fact every time he wrestled #FireVelveteenDream would trend on Twitter.
It should be noted that while the court of public opinion found Clark guilty, he was never arrested, and WWE says they’ve investigated the allegations internally and cleared him. Yet this didn’t matter to some fans as his attempted comeback was short-lived, with the first indie promotion to book him announcing he was off the show within two hours due to the adverse reaction. Considering this, it seems incredibly unlikely WWE will bring him back. However, stranger things have happened.
The career of NXT’s Nash Carter has been going great since he joined WWE after departing Impact Wrestling in 2020, where he wrestled as Zachary Wentz. He, along with Wes Lee, are collectively known as MSK and previously held the NXT Tag Team Championships and won the Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and appeared destined for stardom.
However, just days before he is set to wrestle in a featured match at NXT Stand & Deliver, his wife and fellow wrestler Kimber Lee has made unspecified abuse allegations against him on Twitter. Seemingly with her last tweet giving Carter 24 hours to disclose the details, or she will share the whole story herself.

While the tweets have since been deleted, they live on as fans have screenshotted them and quickly shared them across social media, Reddit, and various forums. Therefore a statement from Carter is required considering the severity of the allegations. Although it should be noted that in the past, WWE has instructed talents not to comment on accusations publicly, thus Carter may not be able to address the claims.
Carter and Kimber Lee have been in a relationship since 2018, with the couple getting engaged in August 2019 and marrying in May 2020. Kimber Lee herself worked for WWE between December 2016 and March 2018 under the name Abbey Laith and is believed to be currently contracted to Impact Wrestling despite not wrestling for them this year nor being listed on their roster page. Outside of wrestling, she has a regular job working at a veterinary surgery that specializes in cats.
It has been rumored previously that WWE planned to induct Rick and Scott Steiner into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. However, there was doubt as to whether Scott would accept the invitation, given his known dislike towards the company and previously calling their Hall of Fame “fake.” Seemingly though, with his nephew Bron Breakkker being part of NXT 2.0, he has mellowed, as WWE officially announced their inclusion on Monday morning.
The brothers are best remembered for the time teaming in WCW, which is where they first joined forces. They did, though, also have runs in WWE, New Japan, ECW, and TNA and are regarded as one of the most outstanding tag teams in history. Additionally, they had singles success, with Rick holding the WCW United States Championship and Scott memorably being WCW World Champion up until the promotion’s final episode of Nitro.
Last Friday, Triple H revealed during an interview on ESPN he was retired from in-ring competition due to having had a heart defibrillator implanted last year. This led to dozens of people in the wrestling business paying tribute to his remarkable WWE run and countless fans sharing their favorite moments from his career. Now, in a tweet, the 14-time world champion has said the outpouring of support has left him humbled by the kind words, and he wishes he could reply to everyone.
While Triple H has been away from the WWE since last September recovering, he is now back working in a managerial position. Fans will now be hoping he will eventually return to working in NXT alongside Shawn Michaels booking the shows, as WWE introduced NXT 2.0 during his absence, and so far, the feedback has been that Triple H’s version was the better product. Of course, he and WWE may have different plans, but for many fans, the only thing as good as Triple H wrestling again would be his NXT return.
