Former WWE champion Alberto del Río, also widely known as El Patrón, will remain in pretrial detention in San Luis Potosí after a control Judge upheld the formal charge of family violence filed by the State Attorney General’s Office. The luchador was arrested on April 6, 2026, following allegations that he physically assaulted his partner, causing visible injuries. His legal team requested an extension of the constitutional 72-hour period and a release during the proceedings, but the Judge denied both motions. According to milenio.com, an arraignment hearing is now scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at which time authorities will then decide whether he will face trial while in custody or on bail.

“The accused invoked the constitutional term of 72 hours to define his legal situation and requested to carry out the process while free, but the judge denied the request. The arraignment hearing will resume on Saturday, April 11, when it will be decided whether Alberto del Río will face trial in prison or at liberty. Earlier this week, @RingsideNews_ sparked major backlash after tweeting a photo of AEW artist Mel Coleman, who was seen flirting with Andrade El Idolo on Dynamite, along with a mocking caption questioning if she was “a dude.” The inappropriate now-deleted tweet drew widespread criticism for its insensitivity and transphobic undertones, with fans and wrestlers slamming the outlet for body-shaming and lazy journalism, with many even calling for boycotts. And now Coleman has responded on X.com with powerful confidence, proudly owning the situation by sharing a stunning photo captioned “When the dudes are intimidated by real dominant energy. Tell your girlfriends I say hi, I can be a better boyfriend.”

Coleman, known online as @MelColemanArt, is AEW’s premier pro wrestling artist whose bold, dramatic illustrations have turned Dynamite segments into breathtaking visual masterpieces. Self-taught and inspired by her lifelong love of wrestling, comics, and classical painting, she began creating fan art in 2020. Her work quickly caught fire online, leading to a dream collaboration with Don Callis, who commissioned iconic pieces such as the Don Callis Family “Last Supper” parody and Kenny Omega portraits, which aired on national television. Today, she designs official merch, limited-edition prints, and graphics for top stars while continuing to captivate fans with her talent and beauty.

Nic Nemeth will wrestle at TNA Wrestling’s “Rebellion” pay-per-view on April 11 in Cleveland, Ohio with Browns legend Bernie Kosar in his corner. Nemeth came to TNA following two decades of wrestling as Dolph Ziggler in the WWE where he was 2-time WWE Heavyweight Champion and 6-time Intercontinental Champion. 

Nemeth recently chatted with Web Is Jericho via Youngstown Studio ahead of Saturday’s show and shared his thoughts on what TNA is offering to wrestling fans that other companies, namely WWE and AEW, perhaps are not. 

“I do a radio show, Busted Open on Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7 (on Sirius XM),” Nemeth said. “One of my favorite things to do, I watch everything else. I’m very open about, I can like stuff at other places but I can also not like it. WWE famously in the last couple of years has gone into a pay-per-view format where it’s four or five matches and then stories and videos and packages in between. And you have AEW on a different spectrum, to where it’s like ‘We’re gonna give you 16 pay-per-view matches, and they’re each gonna go 45 minutes, and you’re gonna need a cigarette afterwards to catch your breath.”

Nemeth continued: “I like that TNA falls in that middle package of, there’s stories, there’s microphone time, there’s show-stealing matches — especially that X division — anyone in there and around it tends to blow my mind when they go out there and steal the show. We have a little bit of the talking and the stories and a little bit of the dream matches, and it all comes together. I like to say that’s what TNA does. It’s a locker room where we’re all on the same page, most importantly. But we’re all giving a different product than all the other wrestling companies.”

Create A Pro Wrestling Academy will hold their Monumental Moment show on May 1 in Melville, New York. A marquee match that was originally scheduled between TNA’s Nic Nemeth and AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF was recently called off by TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva which drew criticism from fans excited to see the cross-promotional bout. 

MJF called out Silver via social media saying: “Welp. Nic Nemeth and TNA are afraid of the AEW World Champion. Shame old, Carlos doesn’t care about the fans or his roster getting paid. I’ll still be there @CreateAPro.”

TNA will hold their Rebellion pay-per-view Saturday, April 11 in Cleveland, and Nemeth, a longtime Cleveland sports fan and Ohio native, will have Browns legend Bernie Kosar in his corner when he takes on AJ Francis. While plugging Rebellion in an interview with Web Is Jericho via Youngstown Studio, Nemeth explained why his match with MJF was pulled for the May 1 show. 

“A couple different things were happening,” Nemeth said. “Our president Carlos Silva is very open when it comes to a lot of things, behind-the-scenes deals. Some things that people don’t always know about, we put out there. We had a phone call. Deep into contractual obligations, certain companies might have crossover with certain other companies, with their rival or a streaming service or a cable company, and (Silva) goes, ‘Because of the situation, and it’s debatable, and there’s a few of them, we have to do the right thing now. And it’s gonna be a hard choice, but long-term, it covers their butts legally for everything.’”

Nemeth continued: “I’m crushed, obviously. You can have the business aspect, and ‘OK you’re right, you explained to me, you showed me the legal basis why we can’t do this right now’, but also, the part where I was like, ‘This is such a cool thing that’s gonna happen, because rarely do you get these extra special cool moments where dudes from other companies and dudes from other generations, in this case both, where you know it’s gonna be good and big and awesome, and you just can’t get it done. I’m absolutely crushed.”

Nemeth said he still hopes to have the match sooner than later once contractual issues are sorted out. “This is gonna be something special down the line,” he said. “We’re both still gonna be on the show. We’ll both do our parts. But one way or another whether it takes months or years, I’m gonna make this happen. It was a special one to me. I like to let everyone know once in a while, I can still go, I don’t get tired, I got my stamina from St. Ed’s and the Kent State wrestling team, it’s never going away. I want to show anybody whether they’re 28 or 35 or the next guy who’s got the torch for AEW for the next 20 years, which really appears to be MJF dominating. I wanted to go, ‘Hey, just so you know, I can go, too, and I want to see if you can hang with me’, because this is something we thought we’d never see, and that’s what makes it extra special.”

In a shocking display of backstage dominance, TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva has ignited massive fan backlash by yanking X-Division Champion Leon Slater from his dream match against Ricochet at WrestleCon, blocking MJF versus Bear Bronson, and canceling the highly anticipated MJF-Nic Nemeth showdown for Create A Pro. These iron-fisted decisions have sent ripples of frustration throughout the indie scene, with outraged fans accusing TNA of selfishly sabotaging exciting cross-promotional opportunities and depriving the wrestlers of paydays.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, TNA made these moves primarily due to “partner conflicts,” likely stemming from their deepening multi-year partnership with WWE, which now makes AEW a rival.
