During the Double or Nothing pre-show media call, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that Mick Foley could potentially return to the ring for AEW, but only if Foley himself feels fully prepared to handle the physical demands. The comments come after AEW announced that Foley will co-host this weekend’s Buy-In pre-show alongside Renee Paquette, sparking immediate speculation about a possible in-ring comeback.

“I can’t speak for Mick Foley as to whether he’d want to wrestle or if he’s going to wrestle anytime soon, but if he ever does, I would love for him to do it in AEW. But I also don’t wanna put him in a situation in which he’ll be uncomfortable. I want him to feel good about this, and I know he’s taken so many big hits and had such an amazing career with so many spectacular moments, and physically, I would ever only ask him to wrestle if he felt up to it and that he could live up to the physical demand.” – Tony Khan

Despite the excitement, Foley’s long-term health remains a major concern. The hardcore legend has a well-documented history of concussions, multiple hip and knee replacements, severe back issues, shoulder injuries, and chronic pain that at one point left him struggling to walk. While recent surgeries and significant weight loss have improved his mobility, the cumulative toll of broken bones and internal trauma continues to cast serious doubt on any return to the ring.

The Cauliflower Alley Club has sadly announced the passing of veteran wrestler Phil Hickerson, best known to fans as Mr. Nashville and PY Chu-Hi. He died on May 20, 2026, at the age of 79. A rugged 6’1”, 300-plus-pound competitor, Hickerson debuted in 1974 and quickly became a cornerstone of the Memphis wrestling territory. He was especially respected for his tag team work, most notably as one-half of the Bicentennial Kings alongside Dennis Condrey.

Hickerson also found success as a singles competitor, capturing the CWA Heavyweight Championship in 1988. In the late 1980s, he reinvented himself as the entertaining heel PY Chu-Hi, delivering memorable performances in World Class Championship Wrestling. The dependable Tennessee native retired from the ring around 1991 after a 17-year career and was inducted into the Memphis Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1995.

WWE’s Ludwig Kaiser, most recently performing as the masked El Grande Americano, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon in Orange County, Florida, on a misdemeanor battery charge. The 35-year-old German wrestler, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, allegedly got into an altercation with another man, according to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp. Authorities booked him around 2:37 p.m. and released him hours later after he posted a $1,000 bond. As of this writing, WWE has remained silent on the matter, leaving fans concerned as Kaiser prepares for his upcoming high-stakes mask-versus-mask showdown.

Legal troubles are nothing new for WWE talent. Superstars have faced everything from DUIs and minor assaults to drug-related charges over the years. Recent examples include Liv Morgan’s 2024 marijuana arrest, which was reduced from felony to misdemeanor, and multiple DUI incidents involving The Usos. While the company could release talents following arrests, star power typically comes into play.

Yungblud emerged on the rock scene in a big way following his critically-acclaimed performance at the Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath “Back To The Beginning” concert. The singer is gearing up for the third installment of his Bludfest, a personally curated, inclusive music festival created to provide fans with an affordable and accessible live music experience. This year marks the festival’s international debut and will take place on June 27 in Czechia.

Yungblud recently commented on the current affordability of live events in a video that caught the attention of rapper/rocker Machine Gun Kelly who blasted the singer in the comments. “You cancelled a tour because you couldn’t sell tickets blamed it on mental health then got paparazzied at Nobu the next day, Pinocchio,” he wrote. “And your actual tour tickets are still the same price as every other artist. Shut the f*ck up you silver-spooned, preachy w*nker.”

A rep for Yungblud responded: “Dom has not commented directly as he is so busy focusing on his sold-out North American tour and finishing his next album. He genuinely hasn’t got time to engage in any of this but we wish mgk the very best.”

MGK’s comment has since been deleted, but it’s not the first time he has spoken out against Yungblud. He dissed the singer in his song collaboration, “FIX UR FACE,” with Fred Durst rapping, “Mickey Mouse kids turned rockstars / Leaving private schools, tryna be outlaws,” referencing Yungblud’s acting past. He appeared years ago on the Disney drama The Lodge and recorded “Tell It Like It Is” for its soundtrack.

In a major boost for All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan has announced on X.com that WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley will co-host the free Buy-In pre-show alongside Renee Paquette for this Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view. The Buy-In, a name that nods to AEW’s casino theme, has featured a variety of co-hosts and guests, including Jeff Jarrett, Bryan Danielson, Paul Wight, and others, depending on the event.

Foley’s move to AEW became possible after he severed ties with WWE over the company’s relationship with President Donald Trump. Citing ongoing concerns about the administration’s immigration policies and Trump’s public comments, Foley pointed to Rob Reiner’s death as the final straw. He declared he would make no further appearances with WWE while Trump remains in office, and with his Legends contract now expired, the door swung wide open for Foley to work with AEW.

According to @FalseFinishHQ and later reported by F4Wonline.com, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore has been spotted visiting the WWE Performance Center in recent days. This development has fans buzzing with speculation about a possible in-ring return, and adding fuel to this fire is the news that his former tag partner, Big Cass, now known as Big Bill in AEW, has his contract expiring in the next few weeks.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass formed one of WWE’s most memorable tag teams from 2013 to 2017, captivating audiences with their larger-than-life personalities, sharp promos, and signature “SAWFT” catchphrase. The duo dominated NXT before making waves on the main roster, blending comedy and charisma to become instant crowd favorites. Therefore, while far from confirmed, a reunion of the “Realest Guys in the Room” in NXT or the main roster would likely be popular with WWE fans.

According to Fightful Select, at least two former WWE talents were backstage at this week’s Ring of Honor tapings in Florida. Carlito was apparently present purely as a visitor to support his brothers, Epico and Primo, who competed on the show. However, Bobby Steveson, best known as Damon Kemp in NXT, was also there in a working capacity, although he did not wrestle.

Among them were Carlito and Bobby Steveson, both who were with WWE in recent years. Carlito was there visiting, as Epico and Primo were wrestling on the tapings. Carlito has never worked AEW or ROH. Bobby Steveson was backstage, and it was claimed to us that he was working at the show, though he didn’t wrestle. Steveson wrestled as Damon Kemp in NXT, but hasn’t wrestled much in his two years outside of the company.” – Fightful Select

27-year-old Steveson enjoyed a solid yet relatively brief NXT tenure as Damon Kemp from late 2021 to mid-2024. The older brother of Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, signed with WWE in August 2021 and, after debuting on 205 Live, joined the Diamond Mine stable, before turning heel by betraying The Creed Brothers, and later aligning with the No Quarter Catch Crew. Still, despite strong in-ring work, he never fully connected with fans, and some suspected his future might lie outside the professional wrestling business.

Wrestling legend Jacques Rougeau is set to make a stunning return to the ring at age 65, chasing his first-ever Royal Rumble win. After months of intense training, the Quebec native will compete in the GPW Royal Rumble on May 30, 2026, at the Slush Puppie Arena in Gatineau. Inspired by Bushwhacker Luke’s impressive performance the previous year, Rougeau is returning to the ring in an attempt to finally claim a Rumble win, having surprisingly never competed in WWE’s version. Promotional videos have already teased an intense showdown with Harry Smith, son of his longtime rival, the British Bulldog, which has the potential to be the show’s highlight.

Born on June 13, 1960, in Saint-Sulpice, Quebec, Jacques Rougeau Jr. hails from one of Canada’s most storied wrestling families. He debuted in 1977 and rose to fame in the 1980s as one-half of The Fabulous Rougeaus alongside his brother Raymond in the WWF. He later reinvented himself as the villainous Mountie, capturing the Intercontinental Championship, and dominated the tag team division with The Quebecers, winning three WWF Tag Team titles. Since largely retiring in the mid-1990s, he has run his Montreal wrestling school while pursuing acting roles, including an upcoming appearance in the video game Ghost Master: Resurrection.

A few years back when Mötley Crüe’s original guitarist Mick Mars split with the group, he said the much of the band’s live performances were pumped through the sound system via pre-recorded tracks. While the band has never denied enhancing the backing vocals of their songs, they’ve denied claims that they’re miming or lip-synching shows. 

The band’s new guitarist, John 5, responded to the claim again on the “Thinking About Guitar” podcast. “I’m so glad you brought that up, and people don’t wanna talk about it, but I’m so glad you brought it up, because here’s the thing,” he explained. “I’ve always said, ’cause there was this talk that was going on for so long, like, ‘Oh, this person’s not playing live,’ or, ‘That person’s not playing live.’ Everything — Nikki is playing every note up there, but it’s so funny that people don’t wanna accept that. They’ll be, like, ‘Oh, his hands aren’t even on the bass,’ and it’ll be up in the air. But it’s, like, he’s fretting a note, or it’s he’ll have this arm up, but he’s picking with this hand. But people don’t understand that. Nikki plays every single note on that stage. He messes up. You can hear mistakes. Tommy plays everything. I play everything. Vince is singing. And I think people just don’t wanna hear that. I don’t understand why people don’t want to accept that, but we work really hard, and the live tracks, they sound great. We play. I listen to these songs, these tracks back, and I’m, like, ‘This sounds really great.’ And that’s ’cause we work hard at it. And that’s it. Everybody plays everything.”

John 5 then addressed the band’s use of backing tracks for their vocals primarily on song choruses. “Listen, there’s backups that are on track,” he said. “Of course, there’s backups pumped in, there’s sirens pumped in, there is intros pumped in, but all the music that we’re playing is being performed by us. And I’m up there singing backups, and Nikki’s singing backups, and we do our best, and it’s probably… I’m not a singer. I’ve played with some of the greatest singers in the world, but I’m doing my best with backups. But, yeah, we play all of that stuff, and I’m proud of that. I’m proud of that. And everybody just works really hard.”

Last year, Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil revealed that he suffered a stroke in late 2024 that pushed the band’s Las Vegas residency dates back several months. The band appeared earlier this month on the season finale of “American Idol,” and bassist Nikki Sixx discussed Neil’s health after the episode with USA Today. 

“I can’t imagine what Vince went through, and to not know if I could ever do what I love again. And I think that freaked him out the hardest,” Sixx said. “He worked his ass off. Most people would’ve quit. It’s a lot of work to go from you’re basically done to on stage and rocking the house.”

Sixx continued: “I didn’t know, really, anything about a stroke. I thought a stroke was something else, and when it happened to one of us, the family, and then you start learning more about it, you’re like: ‘My God.’ It might even be good for fans to hear that and if there’s any cautionary stuff you have to do.”

Neil previously said that his doctors were unsure if he would ever perform again. Luckily that’s not the case as the band will embark on a 33-city North American tour beginning in July.

Nu-metal legends Static-X were on the road in support of their “Project Regeneration” albums. “Vol. 1” of the series featured many of the final vocal performances and musical compositions of late Static-X frontman Wayne Static, while “Vol. 2” was a collection of 14 brand-new songs produced by the band’s current frontman, Xer0, who is believed to be Dope singer Edsel Dope. 

Unfortunately the band announced earlier this week that it was canceling the remainder of their 2026 tour dates due to “serious medical issues” with someone in the band. 

“Due to serious medical issues, Static-X will be forced to cancel our remaining tour dates in 2026,” the band wrote in a statement. “The situation is unavoidable and requires immediate attention. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, and we promise to return to the stage, bigger, stronger and faster in 2027.We appreciate your continued love and support and look forward to seeing you all again very soon!”

Bassist Tony Campos previously talked about the band moving on with a masked singer. “It’s been really cool, man, how people have embraced that idea of having the character up there being the representative of Wayne’s vibe and spirit without us being, like, ‘Hey, here’s Static-X with their new singer,’” he told Lazer 103.3 in Des Moines, Iowa. “That’s not what we wanted to do. So, we were just, like, ‘How do we represent Wayne in a cool way?’ And I think this is a really cool way to do it.”

Marty Jannetty’s wife, Addie Jannetty, confirmed via Facebook that the WWE Hall of Fame candidate recently underwent a below-the-knee amputation on April 1, 2026. Performed by Dr. Leland McCluskey to remove infected bone, the surgery had sparked widespread concern across the wrestling world. Additionally, she confirmed that the photo being shared online is authentic and encouraged supporters to sign the ongoing petition calling for his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
