Anthrax will release their long-awaited new album “Cursum Perficio” on September 18 marking their first full-length record in a decade. The band recently released a single from the album, “It’s For The Kids,” to rave reviews, and the album has quickly become one of the most anticipated metal releases of 2026 .

Anthrax’s former singer John Bush has also been busy lately appearing on the new Armored Saint album, “Emotion Factory Reset,” while also doing select shows of material he recorded while with his former band. Armored Saint will also begin an extensive tour later this summer. 

In a new interview with Full Metal Jackie, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian talked about Bush doing shows featuring material he sang with the group. “John and I are close friends — we have been forever,” Ian said. “There was whispers about this ages ago. I think it’s something that John had been thinking about for a really long time, and I think it was just a case of just figuring out the hows and the whens for him. But we’ve been nothing but supportive of it ever since. Like, I remember him asking me about it once. I’m, like, ‘You don’t need to ask.’ Do whatever you want, bro. I celebrate it. I love that you’re gonna go out and do this.’ The only bummer for me was when he did the run of dates where he played L.A. and he played New York, I was in the opposite cities. I missed him both times. And I was hoping, like, I even asked him, I said, ‘Hey,’ ’cause I thought I was gonna be home for the L.A. show. And I said, ‘Can I come up and play a couple of songs?’ And then he said to me, ‘They’re your songs. You don’t need to ask me.’ And then it turned out I couldn’t be there. So, I would love to get to do that again at some point. Like I said, John and I are good friends, and that kind of transcends. That’s really all that matters to me. And I’m stoked that he did that, and I’m stoked that there’s a new Armored Saint record.”

Bush did four studio albums with Anthrax: “Sound Of White Noise”, “Stomp 442”, “Volume 8: The Threat Is Real” and “We’ve Come For You All.” His recent shows featured tunes from all four.

Singer Michael Graves joined the Misfits in 1995 replacing the group’s iconic leader Glenn Danzig, who had long been estranged from the band he created decades prior. Graves recorded two well-received albums with the band before things eventually imploded by the late ’90s. 

Since then, Graves has remained fairly active, and he’s been in the spotlight, though not always perhaps for the most flattering reasons. Graves is an outspoken conservative, and he testified on behalf of five Proud Boys members in 2023 for their part in the storming of the Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021. Despite that, he has denied advocating for “racism, violence or the exclusion of anyone based on race, religion, gender or identity.”

In a new interview with the Nothing Shocking Podcast, Graves talked about pivoting to Christian-based music, and how the punk world “has rejected me wholeheartedly.”

“I’m sure that you know, in the punk rock world, I’m not well liked and I am certainly not well received anymore,” he explained. “It’s just been an awful, awful time for me in that world. And the hatred and the loathing that has come out of that scene had been just unbearable. And the collapse and the calamity of the European tour really forced me into making a hard pivot, because there’s certainly no punk label, there’s no hard rock label that is interested in me. And even if they were, they couldn’t sign me, they couldn’t work with me because the punk rock world hates me and has rejected me wholeheartedly.”

One of the interviewers told Graves that “it’s heartbreaking when fans turn on artists because of their political stance.” Graves replied: “I don’t like it either. I don’t like it either. I’m gonna say it’s heartbreaking, it’s soul-crushing. It’s been awful, because I’m not like that. I wasn’t raised that way. I didn’t come up that way in the scene, with the Misfits. The scene that I was in, the community that I was in was very diverse, it was very accepting. Nobody got canceled or attacked. I’ve gotten physical threats. My family’s been threatened. It’s just been an awful thing. And I’m not like that.”

He continued: “There’s this Michale Graves that’s been built in the media that is so opposite of who I am. I’m supposedly affiliated with this person and I… It’s crazy. It’s crazy. I’m a lover, not a fighter. And I love the music. The music should bring us together.”

Former WCW wrestler Tyler Mane has bravely shared on social media his breast cancer diagnosis to raise awareness among men. The 59-year-old, known in wrestling as Big Sky and in Hollywood for his roles as Sabretooth in the X-Men films and Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween movies, had a lump removed after his wife encouraged him to seek medical attention. Mane admitted that his first instinct was to keep the rare diagnosis private, but he chose to speak to raise awareness.

“Yep. I have breast cancer. And yep, it’s super rare. Only 1% of breast cancers are men. I’ll be honest, my first reaction was to keep it secret. I mean, it’s kind of embarrassing … My doctors all dismissed it, and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early. So let’s start talking about it! 1 in 755 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and if caught early, it’s VERY treatable. Time to answer the wake-up call.” – Tyler Mane

Approximately 2,670 men are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States in 2026. The disease most commonly affects older men, with a painless lump near the nipple being the most typical early symptom. Yet due to low awareness, men are frequently diagnosed at more advanced stages than women. However, when detected early, breast cancer is considered highly treatable, but men should seek prompt medical attention for any unusual changes in their chest area.

Veteran wrestler Konnan has undergone a double leg amputation amid a severe, ongoing health battle. According to Vince Russo on The Coach and Bro Show, the former WCW star recently lost his second leg and is now in intensive rehabilitation. Though physically exhausted, Konnan expressed his profound gratitude to WWE, which now operates AAA, where he works, for covering all his medical expenses, reportedly exceeding $1 million. This is unusual for WWE and suggests he is technically under an employment contract rather than an independent contractor.

“Konnan has gone through a double leg amputation. Yes, both legs … I called Konnan yesterday. I didn’t talk to him long, man, because he’s very weak. He’s going through grueling rehabilitation, learning how to cope with it. I can’t even imagine that, like, we can’t imagine that. Konnan said to me that WWE has paid every single cent of his medical bills.“ – Vince Russo

62-year-old Konnan, whose real name is Carlos Ashenoff, has endured a brutal two-decade career shaped by the physical toll of professional wrestling. Long-term painkiller use for chronic injuries led to kidney failure, resulting in a 2007 transplant and multiple hip replacements. In 2021, he suffered heart failure, and he has now lost both legs. Despite everything, he remains beloved by the fans he entertained throughout his career, and it is hoped that this support will help him cope with such devastating circumstances as he focuses on his recovery.

Back in the early ’90s, future Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Def Leppard were performing at the same festival as legendary horror rock icon Glenn Danzig. Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell previously told MuchMusic that after Danzig told his wife to “get the f*ck out of the way!,” singer Joe Elliot kicked Danzig in the rear end knocking him down causing him to drop a bowl of soup. 

If that sounds sort of farfetched, it’s because it is, and the band’s other guitarist Phil Collen revealed to The Jeremy White Show what really went down. “Yeah, we were doing a festival in Europe,” Collen said. “And, actually, it wasn’t really me.”

“Vivian Campbell’s ex-wife was just getting out the back of a van and she bumped into Glenn Danzig and he had some soup. And it spilled the soup and he got all pissy. And him and Viv were having all this thing. And I remember I said to him, ‘Dude, I’ll get you another soup. It’s fine. It’s totally fine.’ And I didn’t in the end, because it got a little heated vocally. But that was it. And it never ended up in a punch-up or anything… And then it was kind of defused. It’s, like, ‘Well, dude, I’ll get you soup if you want.’ And, yeah, didn’t happen.”

Collen continued: “Like all these things, they get blown out of proportion, I’m sure. I’m sure if I saw Glenn Danzig it’d be great. It’s like, yeah, dude, who cares? Yeah, I’ll buy you a soup juice or something. It’s, like I don’t care. It’s no big deal.”

Danzig previously said the initial story was “a total fabrication. Anyone who knows me or my past knows that I never walk away from a fight,” he said. “It’s true that an altercation occurred, but we never came to blows, as reported. As a student of martial arts, I am quite capable of taking care of myself. Next time, they won’t be given that respect.”

WWE personality Cathy Kelley has confirmed that she is currently single. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the popular broadcaster admitted that her intense schedule makes dating extremely difficult, joking that her current approach is to “be on my couch and hopefully someone shows up.” She also revealed that her colleague Joe Tessitore tried to nominate her for ABC’s The Bachelorette, though nothing more came of it.

“It’s probably better than my dating plan right now, which is just be on my couch and hopefully someone shows up. Joe Tess actually tried to nominate me to be The Bachelorette recently. Concertgoers dressing up in costumes for shows is nothing particularly new especially when it comes to eclectic music festivals. Dressing up in a banana costume and heading to a hardcore show, however, is probably not going to end well. 

One fan at a Toronto hardcore show headlined by Terror found that out during the set of one of the openers. Baltimore hardcore outfit End It were on stage when said banana man caught the attention of singer Akil Godsey. “Banana guy, come to the front,” he said. “F*ck are you doing? No no no no no. You don’t get rewarded for doing that sh*t. He wanted the attention, and now he has it.” The band’s bassist added: “And now, everyone here has to kill you.” 

Godsey said he’d give the band’s setlist to anyone who would “strip the banana.” Within seconds of the next song, the costume was shredded. The Banana guy took to his Instagram after writing the show was “exactly the opposite of what Hardcore is supposed to be… I was an unwilling participant, attacked and clothing removed at the direction of a band I paid to see… What would you do?”

Rick Martel has clarified his recent comments about a WWE Hall of Fame offer following an appearance on Sean Mooney’s Prime Time podcast, where he stated he had turned down being inducted because he “wasn’t ready,” leaving many disappointed. However, Martel has now taken to X.com to set the record straight, explaining he had actually only declined an invitation to appear at Axxess in San Francisco and attend the Hall of Fame ceremony as a spectator. He stressed he was never offered an actual induction, with many in the replies now saying he should be the first name announced for 2027.

70-year-old Marttel debuted in 1973 and enjoyed a stellar 25-year run across the AWA, WWF, and WCW. He reigned as AWA World Heavyweight Champion for nearly 19 months, captured three WWF World Tag Team titles with Strike Force, and later thrived as the charismatic heel “The Model” in the 1990s. Martel also won the WCW World Television Championship before retiring, having proven many of his detractors wrong who thought he was too old. Versatile, athletic, and entertaining throughout his career, he remains one of wrestling’s most underrated icons and a top name that fans list when talking about notable Hall of Fame omissions alongside the likes of Bam Bam Bigelow and Miss Elizabeth.

Alba Fyre made a surprise appearance at Pro Wrestling EVE on June 5 under her original name, Kay Lee Ray, catching fans off guard. This was because many believed she was still under contract with WWE due to the standard 90-day non-compete clause that applies to released main-roster talent. However, in a new interview with the Daily Star, the Scottish wrestler clarified the situation, confirming she was not actually released. Instead, her contract expired at the same time as WWE’s post-WrestleMania 2026 roster cuts, allowing her to compete without any non-compete restriction.

“My contract was up, and I knew it was coming up, and I had the decision of whether I wanted to stay or not. I know some other people got fired, and they have the 90-day clause, but because mine was just a contract ending, that means I didn’t have the 90 days.” – Alba Fyre
