It’s well-known that some wrestling fans overstep boundaries, with those who hang around at airports and hotels to get photos and autographs regularly called out. However, Matt Cardona has now disclosed on his podcast that one fan has taken invading privacy to another level by sending a trading card of his wife and current WWE star Chelsea Green to their home address for her to sign and return. Still, the entitled fan appears out of luck as Cardona confirmed they wouldn’t be returning the card and will add the $10 item to his personal collection.
“Somebody found our home address and sent us this to get mailed back this Panini. And that’s not happening, pal. So thank you for this. Thank you so much for the gift … There’s no fucking way I’m ever mailing it back. Because that confirms that I really live there. Yeah, and then you get on some fucking message boards … Chelsea was about to throw it in the garbage. I said ‘Wait a minute, Chelsea, I need that.'”
Matt CardonaWhile this should come across as a warning to fans not to send items to their homes, this isn’t anything new and is likely one of the most worrying parts of being a wrestler. Some may not seem like a big deal, but fans have gone beyond this in the past, with it known that one overzealous fan actually turned up at Arn Anderson’s home, waking him up to sign a replica belt. At the time, Anderson didn’t make a fuss and autographed the item, although once the fan bragged about this online, most who heard the story were far from impressed.
