Jim Ross Explains Why He Refuses To Trash Vince McMahon

During the latest episode of his popular Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has explained why he refrains from trash-talking Vince McMahon despite his past bullying accusations. Ross would address this by stating he prioritizes personal closure and wants to avoid rehashing unchangeable issues, while expressing gratitude for the financial benefits he received working under McMahon, including stock grants that made him wealthy.

“I just don’t believe in rehashing things I can’t change. Why should I put that back in my head and back in my heart, back in my gut, to address a perceived wrong? At the end of the day, really, how bad wrong was it? I can’t go there. I won’t go there. I have a lot of blessings. You know, I don’t have to work another day of my life if I don’t choose to. And I’m not saying that out of egotism or bragging or anything like that. It’s just I’ve been very blessed.” You know, Vince made me a lot of money, and he and I made a lot of money on the stock. You know, I was one of the original people that got grants that all you had to do is vest, which means you got to stay a certain length of time.”Jim Ross

It’s well known that McMahon repeatedly humiliated Ross during their decades of working together, often exploiting his Bell’s palsy and other personal vulnerabilities. Key incidents include forcing Ross to join the “Kiss My Ass Club” in his home state of Oklahoma, mocking his facial paralysis on-air, and airing the mean-spirited “Dr. Heinie” colonoscopy skit in 2005 shortly after Ross’s real colon surgery. Additionally, McMahon fired Ross multiple times, including in 1994 after his first bout of Bell’s palsy, yet Ross persisted and became the iconic voice of the Attitude Era.
