Nixon Newell, formerly WWE’s Tegan Nox, recently made it known that she was struggling to pick up bookings following her WWE departure. However, it now appears those concerns are in the past, as she has joined AEW, appearing during this week’s episode of Collision in a backstage segment. In this Newell, along with Miranda Alize, would interrupt an interview with Tay Melo and Anna Jay, stating she’s in AEW because it’s where the best wrestle.
Newell previously had two stints in WWE, with her debut run being from 2017 to 2021, which was derailed by nagging injuries. Still, she bounced back with a fresh chance in 2022, and the next year, Becky Lynch personally selected her for a marquee bout on Raw, a spot that should have catapulted her to near the top of the women’s division. But when the match fell short of the hype and disappointed fans, Newell found herself slotted into a tag team partnership with Natalya instead.
