Former AEW Wrestler Makes WWE Debut With New Name During Royal Rumble Match

Royce Keys, formerly known as Powerhouse Hobbs in AEW, has made his WWE debut at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Entering the Men’s Royal Rumble match at number 14, the powerhouse wrestler quickly eliminated Damian Priest, showcasing his strength. Keys, who signed with WWE after his AEW contract expired earlier this year, brings over 15 years of in-ring experience, including a stint as TNT Champion. His new ring name honors his son and was trademarked by WWE ahead of the event.

35-year-old Keys, born William Hobson, spent over a decade on the independent circuit, primarily with All Pro Wrestling, capturing the APW Worldwide Internet Championship three times and the APW Tag Team Championship three times. In 2020, he signed with AEW as Will Hobbs, later becoming Powerhouse Hobbs. During this time, he was part of Team Taz and The Don Callis Family, notably winning the Face of the Revolution ladder match and holding the AEW TNT Championship once in 2023, and the AEW World Trios Championship once with Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata.
