Edge wrestled the final match on his WWE contract during this week’s SmackDown in Toronto against Sheamus and would subsequently tell fans in attendance that it had been the last match in his hometown. And now, while appearing on the FAN Morning Show, he has revealed his WWE contract officially expires at the end of September.
This revelation will come as a blow for any AEW fans who had hoped to see him appear at either All In or All Out in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, Edge or Adam Copeland, as we may need to get used to calling him, will be available to negotiate with Tony Khan from October. However, it is known he did speak to AEW before his WWE return in 2020 and opted to stay with WWE, so it would take a brave person to bet against him remaining with the company where he became a legend for his official retirement match.
