Second-generation pro wrestler Road Dogg has held multiple roles in WWE, including Performace Center trainer, color commentator, and Senior Vice President of Live Events. Additionally, he was a writer between 2016 and 2019 and, at one time, was one of the lead writers of SmackDown. And now, PWInsider.com has reported that the WWE Hall of Famer is again in a creative role, as he has been named the Co-Lead Writer for SmackDown alongside John Swikata.
At one point, it appeared 55-year-old Road Dogg’s time in the business could be over after he suffered a suspected heart attack and was hospitalized for several days back in 2021. At the time, fans were distraught because he had underlying health conditions, and his brother Brad Armstrong passed away in 2012, aged just 50, for the same reason. However, after a spell working virtually, he was able to return to work and continue doing what he loves.
