Following a memorable return at WrestleMania 38, it appeared that Cody Rhodes would become the new face of WWE. Unfortunately, though, two months afterward, he suffered a torn pec while working out, which put his highly anticipated rematch with Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell in doubt. Nevertheless, depending on your perspective, he would bravely or foolishly complete in the cage and, in the process, elevate himself in the minds of fans. Thus ensuring a hero welcome awaits him when he can resume his career.
And now, with him set to return to television in the coming months, Cultaholic is reporting via a Dave Meltzer tidbit that WWE is looking to reignite his feud with Rollins when he makes his comeback.
Considering that Rhodes has already beaten Rollins multiple times, including at the aforementioned Hell In A Cell event, it does seem overkill to have them face off again. It is conceivable though WWE plans to go all out between the duo with an actual feud-ending match such as a Last Man Standing or I Quit Match prior to WrestleMania 39. Although the fact Rollins is currently a babyface is somewhat determinantal to this. Still, Rollins has proven to be a better heel than babyface over the years so another turn could be good for him in the long run.
