It’s always unfortunate when a talent departs a company, although it is just part of the business. And now, after Abadon announced on X that they hadn’t had their contract extended, Bear Bronson has confirmed the same on the platform. This hasn’t come as a massive surprise as Bronson hasn’t wrestled for either AEW or ROH since December, and his tag partner Bear Boulder was previously released following a domestic assault arrest.
29-year-old Bronson, real name Joe Fitzpatrick, broke into the business via Pat Buck and Curt Hawkins’ Create A Pro Wrestling Academy back in 2015. From there, he formed the tag team Bear Country with Bear Boulder, and by 2020, they were working for AEW, eventually being signed full-time thanks to MJF urging Tony Khan to offer them contracts. Subsequently, the duo would be renamed the Iron Savages and had most recently featured in AEW’s sister promotion, ROH.
