Trevor Lee, best known to WWE fans as Cameron Grimes, has officially signed with Major League Wrestling. The 32-year-old revealed the news in an interview with Fox News, expressing excitement about joining MLW. He highlighted the promotion’s passionate crowds, high production values, and strong international partnerships with CMLL and NJPW as key factors that led him to make the move. During his five-year WWE tenure from 2019 to 2024, Lee primarily competed in NXT with a short run on SmackDown, where he scored a notable victory over Baron Corbin.
“These past couple of years, I’ve just been kinda waiting on a good opportunity, and I feel like MLW is kind of presenting that opportunity. I really like the ability to be able to work with CMLL, to be able to work with New Japan … I think what really entices me to want to work with MLW is they do have a great production. When you watch the product, it looks good, the crowds are big, the crowds are loud. You know that’s really what you’re asking for, when you take a kind of a step down, MLW isn’t WWE, but they’re not an indie either, you know what I mean? They’re right there.” – Trevor Lee
Several former WWE wrestlers have successfully worked for Major League Wrestling after their releases. Matt Riddle left WWE in 2023, returned to MLW in 2024, won the Battle Riot, and captured the MLW World Heavyweight Championship in 2025. Baron Corbin, released in late 2024, debuted in April 2025 as Bishop Dyer, attacking Riddle before teaming with Donovan Dijak to win the MLW World Tag Team Titles as The Skyscrapers. Other ex-WWE talents like Killer Kross and Dijak have also joined the promotion, drawn to MLW’s international reach and creative freedom.
